Michelle began her
racing career in the summer of 2006 at the age of 14, driving a
100cc spec EasyKart. In both 2006 and
2007, she finished second in the Monticello Karting Club 100cc
championship. In 2007 she also ran in several WKA Florida
Series events, placing 5th in the final standings and she
scored a respectable 7th place finish in her first national race.
In
2008,
Michelle moved up to the EZ 125cc-Lite class. These
karts weigh only 170 pounds but reach speeds in excess of 80
mph. Over the season, she claimed 3 wins at Monticello and one
at Ocala GP. She also scored two second-place podium finishes
in the WKA Florida series and took 3rd Place in the state
championship.
