Y.G.L.G.
from Bikini Kill: Girl Power (Issue #2)

In an effort to keep the mentality of the pigs and maniacs at bay, we've organized a secret society whose ambition is self-education through group readings of specifically applicable texts, and through the necessary communication by way of codes and a language entirely unique, thus we acknowledge the importance of a sort of basic understanding of certain doctrines and thereby a group knowledge - a base from which to set forth our own agenda. Although in its earliest stages of development, this secret society (hereafter referred to as Y.G.L.G.), has suggested a number of books to be read as a beginning for our discussions:
  1. Absolute Beginners by Colin MacInnes
  2. As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner
  3. The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus
  4. Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire
  5. Feminist Theories and the Philosophies of Man by Andrea Nye
Of course, each separate yglg sect will have its own particular reading list and base of understanding and such... and it's with the understanding that marginalized groups must take it upon themselves to educate each other and figure out how to survive in this planet run by pigs, that we put forth the idea of Y.G.L.G.
