Heirs of the Voyagers

Once upon a time, into a world we never remembered, came a mysterious race of beings. They were curious explorers, they met with the native sentient race - the Nagas - made peace, were called the Garuda, and allowed to stay.

And then the Great Old Ones came seeking their heirs. Refusing to be slaves, they fought a great war, shaping the fey, the elementals, and of course the great world-burning dragons. As soon as the Naga and Garuda found a way to trap the Great Old Ones, the Naga sent the world-wrecking Garuda away.

Their mothership may or may not have caused the Ice Age that killed the dinosaurs.

Millennia later, the Garuda would return to Gaia to find the world-map changed, the Naga gone, and an odd hominid race just coming into sentience. They are the ancestors of the gods, the ones who would shape who we were, who we are...and who we could be...

They are the ones who brought about the dragons, fey, vampires, shapeshifters, the Magi, humanity and beings we can only call monsters. We were expected to get along, in peace and harmony.

This was impossible. The monsters, shifters and vampires went underground; the dragons sleep hidden with the Nagas. After centuries of persecution, the fey formed their own bubble-reality and retreated from the land. The Magi weren't far behind. Left to themselves, humanity took over the planet; look at what a lovely job they've done with keeping Her healthy.

We are coming back, the rejected magickal beings.

And if my premonitions are correct, the Garuda won't be far behind us.

Can humanity cope? Or will they go extinct, like the dinosaurs, when they too offend the Garuda...or if there is too much trouble?
