About The House of Yes

The House of Yes is a bitingly twisted psychocomedy that has been hailed by audiences and critics alike. The Pascal family's dark secrets - unconventional relationships, insanity, murder and a shocking obsession with the Kennedys - are about to be exposed with the arrival of their first ever houseguest. The hurricane raging outside only intensifies the escalating tensions developing within the Pascal family home as an odd fantasy becomes horrifying reality.

The House of Yes is intended for mature audiences only.

Jessica Woodard of Oak Park not only directs but also plays Mrs. Pascal, the family matriarch, whose actions on the day of JFK’s assassination may have had unforeseen consequences. Jason Jerisha of Joliet, plays Marty Pascal, the charming, sarcastic and quick-witted son who yearns only for a "normal" life. Teresa Horvath of Joliet, plays Jackie-O, his facetious, mentally unstable, Jacqueline Kennedy-obsessed twin. Anthony Pascal, the twins' younger, eager-to-please brother, is played by Carl Zeitler of Glen Ellyn. Lisa Obara of Darien plays Lesly, Marty's very sweet and normal fiancee.

Welcome to The House of Yes.

Cast Biographies

Teresa Horvath (Jackie-O) Teresa is thrilled and honored to be part of The House of Yes. She has been performing onstage for almost 13 years and Jackie-O is without a doubt, her favorite part yet. She would like to thank Jason for having such good channel surfing "skills." If he hadn't been bored late one night, The House of Yes would have never come to be. Teresa would also like to thank Jessica for her amazing directorial skills. Her vision for these characters has been nothing short of genius. Some of Teresa's past roles include: Maria in Lend Me a Tenor; Theodora in The Haunting of Hill House; Kate in Love, Sex, and the IRS ; Margaret in Death By Chocolate; and Nikki in Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. Teresa is grateful to be undergoing this endeavor with a wonderful group of people who are so much more than fellow actors...they are friends.

Jason Jerisha (Marty) Jason has been involved in theatre for thirteen years. He has recently completed his surgical residency and is now a board qualified podiatric physican. Jason is excited to be part of this production and thrilled to be working with such a talented cast and director. Jason also is the most modest of the group, listing nearly zero of his many fabulous theatrical accomplishments, leaving his director to lengthen his bio by adding this sentence.

Carl Zeitler (Anthony) Carl is very excited to be part of this play and a co-founder of Funhouse Productions. He has gotten the love of theatre in his blood since being cast in Rumors (Lenny) for the Joliet Drama Guild in September 2003. Before Rumors, it had been 18 years since Carl had appeared in a play. He wants to thank Jessica for getting him interested in auditioning in Joliet. His life has been totally different since then. Carl has made great friends because of that choice, and he is honored to be sharing the stage with them tonight. After Rumors, Carl appeared in Run for Your Wife (Detective Sgt. Troughton), Much Ado about Nothing (Don Pedro), Don't Drink the Water (Axel Magee), and Bell, Book, and Candle (Shepherd Henderson) for the Joliet Drama Guild. He most recently appeared in another production of Rumors (Glenn Cooper) at First Street Playhouse in Batavia. Carl has been married for seven wonderful years to Lauren, the best wife in the world. He couldn't have done one second of this without her support and love. Carl gives special thanks to his Funhouse Productions co-founders. Carl has taught and worked with children for the past 16 years. The last 5 years, he has been teaching kindergarten at Alexian Brothers Childcare in Elk Grove Village. A graduate from Southern Illinois University in English, Carl earned his Elementary Education Teaching Certificate and a Master's Degree in Reading Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Carl is a founding member and serves on the board of directors of the Chanooka Center Stage Theatre Company, along with Lisa, Teresa, and Jason. Enjoy the show!

Jessica Woodard (Mrs. Pascal) Jessica made her stage debut with the Joliet Drama Guild at age 9, when she played King Creon's Page Boy in Antigone. The entire theatrical process immediately fascinated her. What kind of a freakish 9 year old can't be torn away from a Greek tragedy?! Sheesh! Since then, Jessica has appeared on stage, as well as been in the role of Director, in many productions. She has developed several youth theater programs, and raised money to provide these programs at no cost to many underprivileged budding actors. Jessica gives great big giant THANK YOUs to this most amazing cast! She also thanks her children for putting up with the endless hours of theater-related dinner conversation.

Lisa Obara (Lesly) Lisa has become ensconced in the world of theatre the past two years. She currently serves as a founding member and President of the board of directors for the Chanooka Center Stage Theatre Company. She also presides on the board of directors for the Joliet Drama Guild as Playreading Chairperson and Callboard Editor. Lisa is a co-founder of the group performing for you tonight, Funhouse Productions. Lisa most recently appeared onstage as Gillian Holroyd in Bell, Book, and Candle for the Joliet Drama Guild. Other roles include Ms. Kilroy in Don't Drink the Water, Hero in Much Ado about Nothing, and Claire in Rumors. Not just limited to acting, Lisa has served as producer and director for various shows. She works as a school psychologist for Grundy County Special Education Co-Operative. Lisa would like to thank Lenny for his ongoing love, confidence, and support. She greatly appreciates the job Jessica has done directing this show. Lisa is thankful for all her parents, family, and friends have given her over the course of her life. To her fellow castmates and good friends, great job! I'm so proud of everyone!
