Rain or Shine
I've hitch hiked south from Florida
and I've traveled north of Maine
People tell me I'm insane
They say you can't go that way
But I'll tell you something honestly
I can go wherever I want to be
Come rain or shine, the weather's fine
The weather's just fine for me
When I was in Mexico
I met an old man who played the dobro
He had one eye open and one eye shut
And he winked at me, and he said Good luck
He said, I been around in this modern town
Man, everybody shuffles and stares at the ground
Nobody dare better look me in the eye!
But if they do, well that's just fine
Come rain or shine, the weather's fine
The weather's just fine for me
I sat down at the breakfast table
I was feeling neither young nor able
The old man said What shape you in?
I said Burnt out, beat, and left for dead
I don't know, but I been told
If you wanna stay young, then never grow old
I guess there's something at the end of the line
But if there ain't, well that's just fine
Come rain or shine, the weather's fine
The weather's just fine for me
