I was excited because a friend of mine was coming back in town, and we were to go out. But when she came in, she was a bit hostile with me, maybe from traveling so much, I don't know. So I went to bed feeling upset because I am very unconfrontational with friends..RRrrr

Eeew, not feeling good at all. I pulled the old sick half-day trick, and slept of the ickyness till noon. I went to work, and not being so warm and fuzzy, I got in a fight with my mother, and so now I wasfeeling even ickier! way to go me..sigh* So I went back to my dorm and ran into my friend, and she acted as if nothing happened. I never understand how people do that. Maybe I'm too stubborn, but it takes me at least a week for the anger to wear off. Anyway, we ended up going out for drinks, at actually had a good time. I couldn't let the booze sink in for some reason, maybe because I had eaten about 10 minutes before going out. But my friend did get shnockered, and we met a guy there who was quite nice and payed for a round. Aah, men come in handy some times!

i am so ready for a holiday it isn't funny! I've been trying to figure out where I'm going to go for the long weekend. We actually don't have Friday off, but that's what they think! hehe. So I can't decide between visiting friends in Connecticut, my aunt in New Hampshire, or just going with some friends to Charlottesville. Hmmm, 8 hours of driving, or 2 hours..difficult decision.. Well, I'll sleep on it.

Happy holiday to me!!! I really like holidays because it always brings out the best in everyone for some reason..It was fun to see all the tourists out walking about with their Hawaaian shirts and kids climbing on trees and the neat little tents. It was quite a sight! But alas, I couldn't stick around to see the excitement unfold. I finally decided on taking some friends to Charlottesville for the weekend. So we arrived in late afternoon, and cruised the town, and a small town it was. We finally found a parking spot, and walked down Main Street looking for a place to eat. After hours of hiking, we found a cute Mexican restaurant called Mono Loco, and ate underneath the stars, along with drinking delicious Margaritas..mmm. As we finished dinner, there were some explosions, and we all suddenly remembered it was the 4th of July. So we paid the bill and set out looking for the perfect viewing locale. Ha! 2 minutes later, the show was over, which was a let down. And finally we ended up hanging at the hotel, watching the DC fireworks, (which was an amazing show) on the TV, boo!

What is there to do in a small town on a Friday? Shopping!!! In this town, there is a small Mall, but it is cool because it is an old timey thing, with whimsical shops, and it is outside. There are all kinds of things going on, like festivals, and concerts, and sidewalk cafes where everyone is sitting and reading or whatnot. Very shi-shi. We tooled around, did some damage with the bank accounts, and found a lovely Japanese restaurant that hada celing painted black with glow in the dark galaxies! And the sushi was divine! We ended the evening with a midnight screening of Yay-Ya Sisterhood, which I was the only one who found it to be charming. Whatever...

More damned shopping, but it wasn't all bad ;) There was an ice skating rink in the Mall as well, so I thought it would be funny to show off my Nancy Kerrigan techniques, which allowed for me to fall flat on my derriere. At least I tried. For dinner, we decided to have a real fancy meal, so we found a little cafe called OXO Restaurant. And fancy it was. It started out with a tee tiny salad, no bigger than a lemon, and then a bigger salad that was very good! All this time I was ordering Cosmopolitans for drinks, all for me of course. Then they served a dallop of sherbert, which was quite strange in between courses, and the grande finally was a delicious steak with potatoes. so at the end of the meal, I had ordered four Cosmopolitans, a salad, a steak, and a cup of coffee. The total for that meal was $76!! I almost had a heat attack, and especially since I was paying for me!! EEEEkkk! I wasn't sure if the eveing was going to end up with me washing dishes... Scary! So as all of us were a bit toasted, we walked off the booze and wound up back at the hotel. What an expensive evening!!

An afternoon matinee of one my favorite movies, Amelie! We slurped down coffee and sat in the shade reading, and finally it was time to head back to reality. Of course stopping for a healthy dinner of fried chicken on the way home.
