Bleh! I feel even worse today, my head is throbbing, and if I move, I'm going to spew. My co-workers are dropping like flies, and I'm the only other one left. I'm just that dedicated! hehe. I think they're on to me though.. Anyway, I went to bed at 7:30, and no I'm not 4 years old, I didn't feel well!

Dammitt!! Still sick, I think I'm dying! Aargh. Always overdramatic, I know. I went to work by metro this morning, and guess what smart little me did? Left my fucking purse on the Metro! I was screaming and pretty much having a seizure, so the train manager stopped the train at the next stop and three of them searched the train for my purse. Luckily, it was discoverd, and no one had decided to have a little fun with my things. Phew. Then i got to work and was told there was a special meeting for all the interns that morning, so they shooed us all down there like a herd of sheep, and pushed us in front of this stage. There were a few TV cameras, and word spread they were from CNN. As I was standing there talking to a friend, a woman grabbed me by the arm and shoved me on stage, giving me a sign that said Kids Rule! (gayest thing ever, I know) and then telling a few of us to stand there with the signs. So I was pretty bewildered with all of this! All of a sudden, the Secretary of Labor, Elaine Chow, who is rarely a presence here, stepped out, and made a quick speech to introduce a special guest. And that special guest was Ben Stein, you know the teacher- "Bueller, Bueller..Anyone." They played the cheesy theme music to Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the "oh Oh, chicka, chickah." song, remember? We all had a good laugh about that one.. And so he made a little speech, and then it was over. So afterwards, he took pictures with everyone, and grabbed me out of the line and we took a picture, and to top it off, he told me I was very pretty! Wierd shit.. My first real celbrity encounter, well, except for Fabio, but that's another story...

My boss left town today so it was work easy, which was a nice break. I went out to grab Indian food, and of course I had my favorite, Chicken Tikka Masala, which is most delicious! But otherwise, the day was a bit stale...

I called in sick this morning. Better to not spread by bogies to everyone else in a 5 mile radius. So I vegged out in front of my little tele, ate cookies and cheese nips, and read magazines all afternoon. I love being lazy! Some older (and wealthy) friends were in town, so they took me to dinner at this German restaurant, so we ate outside with the stars and the lightning bugs fluttering around, it was quite picturesque indeed! And then I wasted away in margaritaville with my redheaded friend. The restaurant boss came over to chat, which made me a tad bit nervous since well, we weren't quite of age yet. But he didn't seem to either notice or care. So we went to smoke a few butts and then headed off to bed. So a wonderful end to a nice day.
June 22st
A slow day... I woke up at the crack of noon (hehe) and slumped around the house for a while, digging around for scraps of food-I've been demoted to lower than the dog... On a good note, there is this lovely spot out on the terrace, and there are two white wicker chairs with a foot rest and table, and they are hidden in the shade by an awning of vines. It is the most luxurious thing at that house. I really enjoy it though, sitting in my chair, supping on green tea, and watching the bees fly around the coral flowers. (gee, I sound like Robert Frost, well, not quite.) And I really didn't feel like going out, so a good friend came over, and we sat out on the porch and drank wine and laughed. Ahhh..

I really don't like Sundays, because I know what is coming the next day, so I try to make Sunday as productive as possible, but I fail everytime! I ran errands, did some shopping, cleaned out my room, packed some things to be shipped, and still felt as though I hadn't done anything. There was a quirky movie on cable, called "Alice" about this mousy Catholic woman who is being bogged down with living the rich life. She goes to a Tibetan witch doctor, and he gives her herbs that do strange things, and help her find herself and whatnot. as silly as it sounds, I actually enjoyed it. That evening, I had to haul it across town to meet up with some girls for dinner. We went to an Ethiopian place, which was the oddest food I have ever had1 They don't use silverware, and put out this large dish, with different things, like lentils, or green beans, or cabbage. There is this strange kind of spongy breaded rolled up thing, I'm not sure how to describe it, but you put the veggies inside it, and it is actually quite good! Then we toodled around in my car for a while, playing old tapes (think early Salt N' Pepa) with the windows down and the stars above. Very enchanting!
