Welcome East Texas Musicians! The East Texas Music Association is a long overdue thought of many musicians across East Texas until now. Many of us have had quite a few discussions on establishing a group of fellow musicians that support each other so this now is the formation of The East Texas Musicians Association. If you are a musician just starting in the field, or a seasoned veteran player, your membership in ETMA can help bring you in touch with other East Texas musicians and provide a wealth of assistance to help you further your career in East Texas or beyond. Whether you're employed in a performing organization or self-employed as a free-lancer, The East Texas Musicians Association works to improve the musical environment for you, the musician. The ETMA's Mission We urge each of you to help us in our efforts to create this association of East Texas Musicians that is all about: Better gigs and better pay More venues, clubs and events for you to play and easier access to them. Opening town-to-town communications so you'll have the opportunity to play with others thus increasing co-operation and decreasing competition. Increasing opportunity by sharing information, discussing ideas and working together. Being a part of a positive support for the musicians of East Texas. Creating an environment that delivers satisfaction, recognition, pride, honor and friendship and advancement. Allowing for problems to be discussed, support to be found, and remedies to be offered through the support of the members and backing of the association. Using the size of our group to receive discounts on everything from equipment to health insurance to travel and more. Establishing a legacy that opens doors for our children to pursue their musical dreams. Honoring the hard work of those who dedicate themselves to what they love, music.

Joining The ETMA Membership is open to anyone who is involved in the performance of live music in the Ark-La-Tex region, public recording studios and their personnel, promoters and booking agents and managers, sound and lighting support techs, songwriters, and all others involved in the entertainment/music industry. Sponsor memberships are also available for those who wish to support our efforts. Meetings Meetings are scheduled for the third Sunday of each month and the next meeting being held August 25th in Tyler. Members To date, there are over 200 members who have joined from Texarkana to Houston, and from Shreveport to Fort Worth with some members now based in Nashville and other areas too.
