dog in space

hello and welcome.

["what the hell is this 'space dog' deal?"]
ok. 1) "space dog" is a great tori amos song. 2) dog in space was the band i was in when i was much younger. heh. this has absolutely nothing to do w/ the title of my zine. anyway. dog in space is a friendly zine made w/ love by jess, a sleepy nineteen-year-old who likes icecream. this zine is more than a year old, and is currently eleven issues strong. the content varies, but all dog in space issues are filled w/ poetry, journal-scrabblings, artsy design, long ramblings abt. exgirlfriends/politics/music/college/etc., and hope for tomorrow.

[news.]

we need submissions for the guidebook-zine!! also. i've been Homeless for the past couple of months, almost, and i am now crashing on campus w/ a friend. therefore, my MTSU address is the best way to reach me by mail.

i'm working on the guidebook-zine for the Southern Girls Rock&Roll Camp this year. also, i'm helping out as one of the Instructors for the Zinemaking Workshop! this is good stuff. i shall have fun fun.

i am now running the zine department of the Nights in Harlem distro. zak still operates the merch/d.i.y. department, though. so send zines for consideration to the address on my contact page!

i've begun work on dis10 and dis11, which is to be... a surprise. hee hee. i have good stuff planned for it, though. all i can confirm for you at this date is that my "Girlfriend History" will indeed be included, as promised, heh.

i am finished w/ dog in space #s 6, 8, and 9. they are absolutely amazing. guys, i'm so serious. issues 6-9 are my best yet. they all focus on my transition to college, and abt. my various escapades (and sometimes, the lack thereof!!) surrounding this.
it has come to my attention that dog in space has slowly evolved into a literary perzine, which is actually what it should have been all along; i just happened to have some fun along the way.
but i still like to have fun. don't worry. there is still somefin' for everyone!

i have a new address!! check it out on the contact/order pages.

the split is either soldout or nonexistant, it depends on my mood, heh. but it is out of stock, for sure. i have finished dis7, which is amazing. i love it. my personal favouite. still working on dis6. updated zak's page; he has finished his 5-issue run for Another Boy's Paradise, and is beginning a new zine. check that out- link below.

7.9.03
i have the cover for dis6, but i'm not yet working onnit, heh. i'm concentrating already on dis7, which will be my first 1/4sized zine, and i'm digging it muchly. this means that i'm toying more w/ my format. also, working w/ a couple of distros, so we'll see how that's gonna work, yeh. found out some shit today that'll defnitely feature in the upcoming issues of dog in space!! things abt. exes, the house they're tearing down nextdoor, and college. so yeh. also, i now am working w/ zak, who does the another boy's paradise zine (and a great friend of mine for seventeen years and counting!) on a website, so the link to some of his stuff is down there at the links thingy. (*points*).
