I'm Dan Jacobsen, and I live in Naperville, Illinois. 

    My focus as a musician is to use my talents to glorify God. That is my main purpose. Inside of that is to use my talents that God has given me.

Luke 12:48 says "...From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." NIV

    I am a firm believer that God has given me the ability to play the guitar (and sometimes sing). If I was to just sit and watch life pass me by, I wouldn't be using my gift. The verse before the one above states:

    Romans 12:6-8 states:

"We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 If it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully." NIV

    This site and my "future career" (yeah right) is all about using my gifts.

    Now I don't intend to be the guy who plays "God rock" because, to me, it's really hard to write, and I really don't find it to be of very good quality. No song that I sing can express my love for my God, and therefore, I find it easier to spend time separate from my music to share that. 

    My songs are an "outlet" of my emotions, and like it or not, they're not always great songs, but most  great songs weren't written in a couple of minutes either.
