Crispy arrived when Crispy Critters was re-launched in the late 80's as the new mascot.  Resembling a popple (a very big craze in the 80's among children) he was animated by Dean Yeagle and had a voice curiously similar to Jimmy Durante.  In the commercials he was accompanied by talking cereal pieces
