Calico Jack: Daniel Ellis (bassist), Chris Schweizer (Guitar/Vocals), Grant Brashears (drums))

Calico Jack in front of the garage, the day of recording the self-titled album.

Chris and Dan recording.

Dan and Derrick (of Stellar Kin) at the Log Cabin (a 24 hour restaurant with soap flavored room-temperature coffee and soggy bacon) after a show.

Grant drumming away for the recording of the Calico Jack self-titled album.

Dan waiting for his cue to come in with some ridiculously intricate bass riff....

Calico Jack: Chris playing the piano for the recording of "Gene Kelly Movie."

Calico Jack: Playing a show at the Bear Trap, perenial scenester Josh Stokes filming away.

Calico Jack: Plugging away on the record...

Squishing Grant's head.

Derick "Stellar Kin" Price in a Calico Jack Shirt and Chris "Calico Jack" Schweizer in a Stellar Kin shirt.

Calico Jack: Hailey Kercheval singing with us at a show in Murray.

I've got LOTS of cousins. Two of them, Zach Schweizer and Jason Schweizer, of Orlando (altamonte springs) and Cleveland, TN, respectively, are pursuing their own musical projects. Zach's the one in the star hat, Jason is the kid sitting down with the edward scissorhands hair.

The cardinal year in the background, probably waiting for us to hurry up and finish our set.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Grant, in all his glory.

Calico Jack: Dan wearing the shirt of short-lived Americana band "Slow Jazz Music."

Calico Jack: Wailin' away at the guitar (a silver Danelectro, if you're curious).

Grant, mugging for the camera.

Somebody said something funny...

Calico Jack: Dan again, this time sporting a fashionable mouth-pic...

Calico Jack: Recording in the Studio (not really a studio... actually the apartment above my parent's garage...)

Me and Liz, again at the log cabin after a show.

Calico Jack: Playing an acoustic house show at Haylee Ortiz's. Had a stand-in drummer (Jason, who played in Antimerger with Dan... who has apparently played in about fifty of the Hopkinsville bands, and never told me, including Charade, Bailey Shea, Antimerger, etc. If anyone sees Dan in a new band, let me know... I like to keep abreast of these things).

Dan played second guitar instead of bass.

We made a makeshift morocca out of an empty water bottle (I drank three that night, for some reason) and some rice.

Playing "Matador." Dan is helping with the additional percussion.

Playing 'Teddy Graham Memories" (I'm guessing, based on the guitar I'm using and the chord I'm making).

Me and Haylee, who is one of my favorite people. She's more or less responsible for making Hopkinsville into a place that you can see shows, play, etc, as opposed to the musical tundra it was when I was in High School.

John Gibson, host of NPR's "The Indie Connection," and a good friend.

Calico Jack: Playing the Postal Service's "Clark Gable" on the radio.
