Who were those masked men?
As of the latest, the Dream & Shadow Huntsman Group are an experimental music mini-orchestra of fictional characters and one human, with occasional human guests. This human is The Marksman, known as Marshall Burns in everyday life. He writes the compositions, and plays every part that he's capable of, and gets friends to play the instruments he can't.
What's it sound like?
The Dream & Shadow Huntsman Group's music can be summed up in six words: Progressive Folk, Regressive Rock, Aggressive Ideas.
It Frankensteins together the American traditional forms of the Appalachians and the Mississippi Delta with Irish & English traditional forms, and then again with Baroque forms, and then once again with bits and pieces of various "world music" forms.
The lyrics are, in turn, Frankensteined to instrumental compositions with matching moods. The lyrics are somewhere between American folk songs, Anglo-Saxon poetry, and Impressionist paintings.
