Doujinshi are Japanese 'fan comics' of anime or video games. Some of them are simply new stories or continuations of the originals, but an unfortunately large number of them are hentai (pornographic). Even more depressing is the number of them that involve pedophilia, incest, bestiality, and rape (or any combination thereof). Also, there are fan-produced stories simply known as fanfiction. Some of them are well-written, but there are also a great number of laughably bad ones.
