Something Vague

All photos on this site belong to me and I would very much appreciate it if you would ask before using any of my photos. Thank you! =)

Ok so a little about myself....

My name is Danah..with an H. No one spells it right though. I like it that way. Sorry I'm a nerd, I know. Quantitatively, I've been alive for 21 years. I certainly haven't lived every day of those 21 years, though. I've spent way too much time trying to figure out how I'm going to live through tomorrow, and way too little time living today. I don't think I'm alone in that respect though. It would be nice to live just one day without worrying about what's going to happen the next.

I've spent my entire life in Littleton, CO. It's not a bad place, but it could be better. I used to believe that it would be easy to leave this place, that when the walls finally closed in too tight and I needed to escape, I could run away and never look back. I never thought there would be so much to leave behind. Time has proven me wrong. As much as I tried to avoid getting attached to the places and the people I claim to be so sick of, I failed...miserably. I won't stay here forever, but it will always be my home.

Music is the only real constant in my life. I would literally go insane without it. It's the one thing that has saved me from losing my mind. If I have a bad day, I may or may not find someone who is willing to let me cry on their shoulder, but I can always put in a CD or pick up my guitar or disappear into a sea of people at a show and take comfort in knowing that the songs aren't judging me...they exist soley to be heard and to offer an often much needed "You're not alone". I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else, but it makes sense to me.

I listen to a wide variety of music. I'll list my favorite bands, but they change on a daily basis, so it's hard to keep the list current. However, Bright Eyes and Cursive will always be at the top of the list. They are incredible bands fronted by incredible musicians (Conor Oberst and Tim Kasher, respectively). Ok so anyway, here's my ever-changing list: Bright Eyes, Cursive, Desaparecidos,Ben Kweller, The Good Life, AM Radio, Death Cab for Cutie, Rilo Kiley, Mayday, Ozma, Weezer, Jets to Brazil, Azure Ray, Sorry About Dresden, The Postal Service, The Faint, Alkaline Trio, Boy Sets Fire, Piebald, Texas is the Reason, New End Original, That Dog, Appleseed Cast, Neutral Milk Hotel, Small Brown Bike, Saetia, Glasseater, Putrecine, The Anniversary, The Movie Life, From Autumn to Ashes. A Static Lullaby, Armor for Sleep, Stavesacre, Hot Cross, The Dismemberment Plan, Superdrag, Reggie and the Full Effect, Neva Dinova, Poison the Well, Finch, Against Tomorrow's Sky, Q and not U, Vendetta Red, Built to Spill, Now It's Overhead, Coheed and Cambria, Commander Venus, Belle and Sebastian, Onelinedrawing, The Get Up Kids, Son Ambulance, The Red West, The Smashing Pumpkins, The White Stripes, Elliot Smith, Ron Sexsmith, Dylan (not Bob), Simon and Garfunkel, Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Ben Harper, Moth, and so so so many more.

"I want to pledge allegience to the country where I live. I don't want to be ashamed to be American. But opportunity, no it don't exist. It's the opiate of the populace..."

Pictures of Random, Uninteresting Stuff

"I got a letter from the army, so I think that I'll enlist. I'm not brave or proud of nothing, I just want to kill something. Too bad that nowadays, it's just 'point and click', Swing Lo satellite, hot white chariot! In the computer's blue glare, the bombs burst in the air. There was a city once, now nothing is there. Our freedom comes at their expense. It makes sense...does it? Dollars and cents..."~Desaparecidos
