The 1/2 scale conceptual mount

This was an exercise into determing the structure and fabrication procedures and tools required to build an equatorial mount for a plywood framed set of telescope optics.

The scope tube itself is constructed of SIG 1/4" aircraft (spruce) plywood, 8 sides. The long edges are beveled 22 degrees. The internal parts locations are determined: focuser, mirror assembly, mounting trunnions, and with the slats stacked in alignment, holes are drilled all the way thru for dowels to be fitted for alingment when the parts are added after gluing the tube together.
