The countdown to the LARES 2006 Summer Success Seminar has come to the final minutes.

Because the Family Orientation meeting began around dinner time, the leadership at LARES arranged for the UIC Catering Service to provide delicious food items

As can be seen, the Spanish language session was quite popular and heavily attended.

As can be seen from the smiling faces, the families appreciated what was Alicia was telling them.
Next up was LARES Assistant Director Luis Duarte. Because of the unusually hot weather this day, the conference rooms were quite warm. To make the rooms more comfortable, the overhead lights were dimmed, hence the dark pictures that follow.
Former Summer Bridge student and current UIC Senior Class student Rudy Aguilar offered insights on the UIC experience from a students perspective.
Just as soon as it began, the Family Orientation was over. Monday, June 19th, 2006, would see prospective students become members of the UIC family. Their adventure is about to begin....
