Welcome to Random Act of Kindness

Hi, If you found your way here, let me be the first to console you on your recent Random Act of Kindness. This is something I have been thinking about for years and I guess the seed was planted in my early driving years. I used to have an old clunker that ran only on the best of days, but got me to and sometimes from work most of the time. It was a true self fulfilling prophecy, I worked to have a car so I could go to work. Anyway, before I get too far off track, one day, I was stuck on the side of the road and a gentleman stopped to help me get running again, I don't remember what we did that day, but he spent a little bit of money on my car. Seems like it was a fuel filter but that was many moons ago. I asked him for an address so that I could repay him, but he said the best way to repay him was to help someone else out sometime. So for several years after that, I stopped and helped out any stranded motorist I could. Then as all things do when the struggles of life weigh you down, I stopped doing this. Later in life I saw a billboard asking to commit a Random Act of Kindness. This got me thinking that if I had enough money, I could do this easily and anonymously. Finally, I am at a point in my life where I can afford a little extra to help make someone's day a tiny bit brighter. So and idea was born. One day, I was eating at my favorite Chinese place and listening in on a fellow telling about his years as a chaplain in the army and how he had impacted lives of people and it just hit me that if I had enough money in my pocket to pay for my meal, his and his friends, I would buy his meal. I wanted to be anonymous about it, so I got the chineese lady and told her what I wanted to do, then she got another lady to try and figure out what I wanted and pretty soon I had a whole crowd of chinese ladies around me trying to get my idea across. It's hard to be anonymous in a crowd, ya know? So I struck on the idea of putting it in an envelope and handing it off somehow. So here we are, you might have gotten an envelope. It may have been from me, it may have been passed on from someone else. I don't know. What I hope, is that it made your day a little brighter, gave you a sense that the world is still a caring place, and I hope and pray that you will want to pass on a little bit of that feeling to someone else. What I ask is that if you have the means, please pass on some kindness. It doesn't have to be money. When your at a gas station, wash someone's windows. Hold open a door for someone, it's the little things that make a person feel warm inside. If possible, pass on the envelope and info card inside. What I want most if for this kindess to spread like wildfire. If your going out of town, take the envelope with you. I'm thinking of starting with at least 20 envelopes. If you don't mind, sign the guest book below and tell me where you got the envelope and the number on the sheet so we can all see where the kindness is going. Feel free to browse the guest book and see where it is going for yourself. I hope you enjoyed your Random Act of Kindness and may God bless your lives as much as he has mine, Sincerely, Bryan
