PERSONAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATES

PERSONAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATES provides basic health insurance to both individuals and small businesses.

PERSONAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATES is an authorized Agency representing United AmericanInsurance Company.

Organizations are defined by their values. In business, the ability to translate principle into practice is the measure of success. Over 50 years ago, United American Insurance Company established an organization based on four core values: stability, service, quality, and commitment. Today, UA continues to evolve but remains defined by these principles set over a half century past. It is by honoring our foundation that we also forge our future and continue to ensure our success.
Stability Stability is an absolute essential in insurance. When selecting an insurance provider, customers want a company they can depend upon to pay claims. Clients invest in a policy and expect that policy to perform when needed. United American has often said we are the company that does what it says it will do. For over a half century, United American has been meeting the individual insurance needs of our customers.
United American’s strength is reflected in our ratings. For over 30 consecutive years, UA has earned the designation of A+ “Superior” for overall financial strength from A.M. Best (as of 6/04) and AA “Very Strong” for claims-paying ability by Standard & Poor’s (as of 8/04).

Service Service is often the distinction between a good and a great company. A great company goes the extra mile to not just sell a product, but to establish a relationship with the customer. At United American, we believe we are a great company, and we continuously strive to deliver superior service and customer convenience.
UA pioneered true, national “Automatic” Claims Filing® (ACF) — an electronic filing system in which Medicare Part B claims are filed automatically with the insurer. ACF virtually eliminates paperwork hassles and helps ensure there are no lost or misfiled claims so all eligible benefit dollars due are paid promptly. In fact, it is not uncommon for ACF claims to be processed before Medicare’s Explanation of Benefits arrives.
There are some who might say clients do not need ACF as there are other claims filing services available. One in particular was created in 1987 when Congress passed OBRA 4081, which established an incentive program for doctors to contract with Medicare. This legislation allowed certain Medicare Supplement claims to be filed on the behalf of the doctor. How does OBRA compare with ACF? According to UA statistics, merely 13% of all UA Medicare Supplement claims are eligible for processing under OBRA. The balance, or 87%, would have to be filed by the policyholders themselves, if they did not have ACF. UA’s ACF customers are provided with the peace of mind that their claim will be processed electronically, every claim, every time — no hassles and no paperwork required.

Quality Quality is an investment in the future. Clients choose quality when they intend to keep a product for a long time. United American will never compromise product integrity for the benefit of price. UA has always operated on the premise that policyholders want quality and value, and, when they buy UA, they get both. We offer a diverse portfolio of top products designed to meet the needs of our clients both now and in the years to come. UA offers supplemental Health, Life, Long Term Care, Medicare Supplements, and Annuity products (Policy Forms), all of which feature:
> Guaranteed Renewability. UA policies can never be canceled or non-renewed as long as premiums are paid on time.
> Flexible Benefits. UA policies are designed to provide basic protection for individuals and families or serve as a supplement to existing coverage. You choose the benefits and amounts of coverage which are right for you. These can be adjusted as your life and needs change.
> Freedom of Choice. United American policyholders are free to visit any doctor or hospital they wish. Our customers are not restricted to a network or list of providers.
> Portability. As UA’s plans are all individually written, our policies go where you do. Though you may move to a different state or change jobs, UA’s benefits remain the same. For Medicare supplement policyholders, your policy is still accepted wherever Medicare coverage continues to be available.

Commitment The essence of commitment is vision. It is the ability to capitalize on experience and create a path into the future. At United American, every decision is made based on what is best for the customer, for the agent, and for the shareholder. UA’s leadership is committed to our market and to remaining a safeguard our policyholders can count on for years to come.
United American’s niche market is supplemental insurance, with a special emphasis on the senior market. The secret of UA’s success relies upon our established and on-going commitment to these markets. We do not attempt to be all things to all people; we strive to be the best at what we do, which is supplemental life and health insurance.
As an Agency representing United American for the past 14 years, I can personally attest to UA’s continuing commitment to the senior and supplemental markets. Healthcare is in a state of constant change. As a company, we have seen some big changes, and I’m sure there are more to come. Our policyholders can rest assured that UA is with them for the long haul. Whatever the future may hold, United American will be there.
