"History of Lawrence, Orange and Washington Co.'s, Indiana" Goodspeed Bros. and Co., 1884 WILLIAM T. ELLISON, M.D., is the third son of eleven children of James H. and Mary A. (Breckenridge) Ellison, and was born August 16, 1849, in the county where he now resides. His father was born in Washington County, Ind., in the year 1819, and his mother was a native of Kentucky. William T. Ellison secured a good practical education in youth, and remained with his parents until the death of his father, in about 1867. At that age he began the study of medicine with Dr. May with whom he remained for some time, and then graduated at the Belview Medical College with distinction. He embarked in the practice of his profession in the State of Illinois, but two years later located at Heltonville, where he has established a comfortable business which is steadily increasing. February 4, 1879, he was married to Miss Cora E. Houston, by whom he became the father of one son--Spencer--that died eight days after birth. Mrs. Ellison is a member of the Christian Church.
