The 2017 NSL All Star Game took place this year at the home of the Albany Wildcats with the help of Imps manager Chad.  The starters of this year’s game were Aaron Sanchez and Jose Fernandez.  The game started off by Sanchez walking LeMahieu, which would only be the beginning of trouble Sanchez would face in the first.  Chuck Nasty would step up to the plate next and rocket a triple into the gap to get the scoring started.  Beltre stepped up next and singled home Blackmon to give Cooper a 2-0 lead.  Story and Posey would also chip in with RBI singles to make it 4-0 after 1 inning of play.  Scherzer would take over for Sanchez in the 2nd and retire the side in order.  The Schmidt would finally get on the board in the bottom of the second on a solo shot by Correa and RBI single by Molina all with 2 outs to make it 4-2.  Trumbo would add a solo shot in the top of the 3rd to make it 5-2.  Pocello would take over for Scherzer in the top of the 4th.  He would give up 1 run after Khris Davis doubles and scores on Blackmon’s second RBI hit of the game to extend the Cooper lead to 6-2.  Verlander would take over for Fernadez and go 2 innings of work with his only blemish a solo shot by Molina to make it 6-3.  Kluber enters in the top of 6th replacing Porcello.  Once again Cooper starts a inning off with a lead walk to Posey.  Next steps up Davis with a excuse me infield single to bring up LeMahieu who promptly hits into a double play.  But that leaves Posey at 3rd, 2 outs and Blackmon up to bat.  Once again he comes thru with his 3rd RBI hit of the day.  Abreu would follow up with a RBI double to make it 8-3.  Schmidt would try to jump back into the game in the bottom of the 6th on a 2 run RBI double by Braun to make it 8-5. Unfortunate for the Schmidt that is where the game would end as the Cooper bullpen would close it out with Miller collecting the final out.
