hobbies
Hello!!! My name is Jo
Fitzsimmons.
I am an Insulin dependant Diabetic who loves to paint (folk art) and Hobby Ceramic. My daughter Nicole also started painting but she has other interests now.
I first started doing Hobby
Ceramics in 1989 when my Aunt and Uncle started their own Hobby Ceramics
Workshop called "Lady Jane" it was in Smithfield N.S.W. My sister Annette and I
both went to classes once a week for 11 weeks learning Hobby Ceramics. I fell in
love with it and kept going every week on and off for the next 5 years. In the
mean time I won 1st prize in the Beginners section for Stains in the Ceramic Art
Show in N.S.W. 1992. I took a rest the next year and entered the show in 1994 and won 2nd and 3rd
prizes in the Advanced section for Gold Overglaze.
I then took my first Folk Art lesson in 1995.I love doing Folk Art as there are so many different
techniques you can use and is more challenging for me. e.g. Crackle,
Marbelizing, Faux, Stipple, Pen and Wash. That's just to name a few.
Hope you enjoy looking at the pages I have made while doing IT Computer Applications Certificate II.
Some of my pictures
have been taken using a webcam. Sorry I haven't got many pictures and the ones I
have got I will change for better ones once I get a good camera.
