Kanwaljit is prime in many fields including photography, painting, sketching, cartooning, fine arts and poetry. He is a professor in electronics engineering in Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, Punjab. He also read the news on Jalandhar Doordarshan. He is a common house hold name in Punjab. He also read the News for few of the Punjabi Radio Stations in Canada. His news are heard by almost every Punjabi living in Canada because in the news of Kanwaljit, they found the smell and touch of their home land Punjab and Punjabi culture. He is deeply in love with the Punjabi culture and lifestyle. This love can be seen in the photographs clicked by Kanwaljit. In 1997, he published his first ever poetry collection "Bina Pate Wala Khat" (A Letter Sans Address). This poetry collection was very much appreciated by the top Punjabi literary personalities. The unique thing about this poetry collection was that it comprises of first ever sketch-poetry (Poems with Sketches). |
