Every guy has fond memories of his first car.  At the tender age of twenty I was given a brand new company car.  This car provided me with many experiences and everlasting memories ... not all of them were good.

Freshly polished and parked at Lowry Bay on the Eastern side of Wellington Harbour.  My 1972 Holden Belmont 202.4

The late 1980's saw me back on the bikes again. . My Honda CBR 600 was one of the first of its model in NZ, and was good for 235 kph.  From a standing start it could hit 160 kph in 9 seconds.

Jim's Corner was a landmark on the Rimutaka Hill Road north of Wellington.  This road is one of the best unofficial race tracks anywhere.  Over the years the road has maimed and killed many motorcyclists.4

These are my two sons, Ryan (on the left), and Shane,  They were aged 14 and 12 when this photo was taken.  Now aged 33 and 31, they have changed a bit.  Any lunatic things they have ever done can be blamed on inherited traits from the paternal side.

On my front porch somewhere around 1993.4

The current bike.  A Suzuki 250 RGV vee twin water cooled two stroke.  Previously owned by a friend of mine and raced a number of times on the track, it is now used purely as a road bike.  Very light and fast, it is a demon on tight roads.  Top speed is around 200 kph.

Getting ready for another Sunday morning blast up the Rimutaka Hill Road.4

One of the things I always wanted to do was to learn how to dance Rock and Roll.  I can do the basics pretty well now, but I should really be out getting a bit more practice.  The main problem with dancing is that it tends to involve women ... and they are trouble at the best of times.

Petone is my home town.  "Petone" is the English bastardisation of the Maori name, and is pronounced "peh-toe-knee"  It dates back to the very earliest days of European settlement in NZ, and is now a fashionable boutique town.

This photo was taken on Petone Beach where I spent a lot of time as a kid.  Further along the beach is a big wharf where I went fishing and swimming.  The white smudge in the background is Wellington City.4

A few miles north of where I live there is a park where they filmed scenes for the movie "The Lord of The Rings".  This park has a section where one of the the Wellington earthquake fault lines is very visible.  The ground I am standing on has split and moved 15 feet vertically and 70 feet horizontally over the past few thousand years.  It could split and move again at any time.  This raises the question ... why the hell am I standing here?

An afternoon in the park ... somebody has to feed the ducks ...4

For a couple of days this wreck was parked on my front lawn.  I am surprised that the City Council didn't have it towed away and crushed.

My nephew Murray visited with his classic 1975 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.  The miserable tight-assed little prick wouldn't let me drive it ...4
