Jason Warden Campbell

It was a beautiful Spring Saturday as Michael and I drove to Marfell's Beach.

We walked around the shoreline to Cape Campbell.  As we sat on the beach we talked about the things that made Jay special in our lives.  We read a couple of poems, laughed and cried.  We stood by the waters edge and placed Jay's ashes in the water.  A bunch of daffodils were put in the water beside him.

We said goodbye, and watched as the current took him out to sea.

Michael went back to the shoreline and placed a pile of rocks against the wall.  On one, he carved a big "J", and we left.  Below are the poems we read.

Mine was ... "We can only realise the true depth of our love at the hour of separation.  When our love is true, our lovers hand becomes our own, and we see the world through their eyes."

Michael read ... "Love alone is capable of uniting living beings, joining them by what is deepest within them."

It was a very special day, saying good-bye to a very special man.  May he now rest in peace, as he returns to a place he loved ... the sea.

It takes a minute to find a special person
... an hour to appreciate them ...
... a day to love them ...
but it takes a lifetime to forget them
