Websites About Gayndah

SOME GREAT NEWS FOR GAYNDAH, MUNDUBBERA, GLEN EDEN, BINJOUR, and surrounding area locals.

Where is GLEN EDEN? It is half way between GAYNDAH and MUNDUBBERA (15 miles from each town) in an old volcano millions of years ago! Luckily it has not erupted in a few years. 100 years ago my grandfather and his brother moved up from Murphys Creek at the base of the Toowoomba Range to be one of the first settlers in the Gayndah area.

GLEN EDEN is holding its 100 years CELEBRATIONS on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October 2010. If you would like to attend the celebrations you are invited.

Come along and share with us and a great time is guaranteed for all!

Cheers Trevor Savage Brisbane

Many years have passed since we went through these school years (over 40 years in my case) and some of our friends are no longer with us. I am gathering information about past students with the assistance of John Sanderson (Brisbane) also originally from Gayndah. Maybe we can use this as a meeting place and have many class reunions as time goes on.

Those who completed Grade 10 in 1964 will now be well over 50 years of age. Let's have some fun with the time we still have left.

If you find this website interesting and would like to contribute please forward a jpg or original photo (current!) with a few words about what has happened to you in the past years to:-
Trevor Savage
PO Box 5868
Brendale Qld 4500

and enclose a stamped self addressed envelope for immediate return. I will do all the work.

If you have friends who went through Grade 10 with you ask them if they would like to be listed on this site. Please come back and visit again!

From John Sanderson:

Did your schooldays leave you bitter and twisted? Or, did it put your feet firmly on a solid path? And what business do we have by asking such things?

Was school just a sausage machine whereby what you learnt was fairly irrelevant to your life/career path or was the influence of teachers fairly crucial?

If you are going to reach some conclusions and ask some semi-original questions, you have to do it by the age of 40 or 50.

Would you seriously want to have a glass of wine with an old acquaintance that doesn't care where you ended up? Or that takes himself/herself too seriously to tell a yarn or listen to your pathetically stretched story?

If you qualify for a reunion, that means you can save up for a bottle of wine or mineral water, locate old pictures of yourself, and think of the funniest thing that happened at school or since then, and await further instructions. Optional pack of cards, quality cheese, scrummy bread from Brumbys, Noosa, baked by Wendy Kirk, and a camera. If that doesn't work then at least we will have reconnected to some fine folk.

What business is it of mine or of Trevor Savage??

Trev was a good kid who always took his vitamins whereas I was always a pushy little snot so it is not his fault. Maybe there is no reason.

Kind regards
John Sanderson

Trevor Savage and I reckon that you can send old and new piccies and we will scan them. And put them on the website. Please give us an encouraging anecdote that might belong on an autograph book, if you signed such a thing. Or something funny you have done at school or since then. It will be included with the piccy.

Regards

John Sanderson
