Come on in!
SHARON'S PLACE
Glad you stopped by! Hope you stay at least for a short time and look around. I live about 75 miles east of Indianapolis, Indiana, with my husband of 30 plus years, a timneh african grey, and a cat named Sally. Have three grown children and four grand children. I work full time in assembly department at Stant Manufacturing. I used to raise cockatiels and lovebirds. I'd pulled my babies at 10-12 days old and then hand fed them for 4 weeks (sometimes up to 6 weeks).
I bought my african grey when she was 5 weeks old and hand fed her with the help of a bird sitter.
My favorite music is "old" country-Pasty Cline, Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, George Jones, "oldies"(50's&60's) and bluegrass. I worked hard to save up for my first computer, which I bought in October of 1998. Wow! Did I have a lot to learn! There has been times I just didn't think I was ever going to figure out how to use this darn thing. BUT, as you can see, I am making progress and enjoying every minute of it.

I of course think birds make great pets! They need daily care and affection, they also need a well balanced diet (not just bird seed), lots of toys, and a clean cage.
You need to think long and hard before you get that first bird. Depending on the breed you may choose, they could very well out live you. It's also very important to know the noise level of the breed. Many birds are put up for adoption after they grow up because some people will decide they can't live with the daily vocals.
I also enjoy flowers, inside and outside, sewing, cooking and have a small collection of cook books (last count over 300).
