April 19th Car Show Results
Roy(President), Jason(Vice President), Will(member), Will's wife and child(and one on the way), Mark(Member), Jason's Girlfriend, Scott Crouse(future member), Clay Beaty(being recruited), Luther, and Dustin Carper(future member) attended the car show.
Will decided to put his 2002 Neon R/T in the car show for the second strait yet(he won a top 30 award last year as the first time he ever entered it in a car show).
Jason hasn't entered his ride in a more traditional style car show and so he needed to pop his cherry some time and this was a great opportunity to see where the car ranked in the area.
Lowered Horizons car club hosted the show (lhshow.com). They have two annual shows. The first is the YTeen's and the other is the IDShow. The YTeen show is their fourth annual and had 120+ rides two years ago, 130+ rides last year, and 113 rides this year. The proceeds from the show are split 50/50 with the youth organization at the Fishers YMCA in Fishers, Indiana.
We arrived earlier than we did last year, but there was plenty of drama. On the way there, Roy was dragging something under his car and when he tried to pull off the road to see what it was(after the caravan of 6 rides flagged him down) he found out that his front neon tube has busted under his car and the connection cables were dragging on the ground. And there was more drama to follow. Roy had to pull over again because the connection ends were coming undone, so Scott taped them up(thanks) and it was off to the car show.
The car show was filled with any type of ride your into....classic, lowrider, air bagged(even fast bags), hydro's, rims(15's all the way up to 24's on a Denalli), raised, lowered, custom interior/paint/body, ect.
This years show was sponsored by Discount Tire, Sound Connection, IndyImport.com, and Street Dreams. Guage Magazine was in representation also so check their website(gaugemagazine.com) for coverage as well as LoweredHorizons web page(lhshow.com) for additional coverage.
The registration was scheduled from 5pm till 6 pm and judging occured from 6pm until it was finished and the awards were handed out at 9pm. It was well worth the wait(we left at 10pm), because Will and Jay and everyone else experienced the event. We walked away without a trophy for the work, but the experience was worth the work.
Will is the first vehicle out of the club to get national exposure. In the May 2002 issue of Ministyle you can check out the Yteen3 coverage and see the pics of Will's ride and plenty of other rides that were at the show.
Lowered Horizons hosted the show and have a web site up with more pictures and results. So check out the YTeen4 Page. If thats not enough coverage for you, how about guagemagazine's coverage of the event. Oh..and if you need even more coverage...check out another sponsor of the event, Ministyle or go directly to their pages of covereage on the YTeen3 Show.
