About the Artist
![]()
Art has been a very core part of who I am for as long as I can remember. During middle school though my talent started to emerge (as well as some hormone influenced work). My Art Teacher, Dale Peguignot, was an early guide who introduced me to the Swamp Thing comic books as wells as the dark and gritty Batman art. Learning art, however, has largely been trial and error even to this day. Bob Ross aided me in learning landscape backgrounds and many books in our library and local art stores as well as International Business College Professor Mr. Brooks.
Without a cynical slant on life I probably wouldn't have delved into many of the areas I have. Encouragement from friends helped to prevent me from giving up on my passion. For a time I had reached a low point in my creativity (as well as a lack of time), but, when I gained a fresh burst of enthusiasm a couple of years ago I made up for it. I since have done some of my current best pieces and have thrown myself into fantasy art. A subject long admired by myself since the age of 10 because of reading Lord Of The Rings and seeing the works of Boris Vallejo and Louis Royo
Over the last 5 years I have had the opportunity to do various portraits for families, wedding portraits for anniversaries or keepsakes and many varied custom paintings as well as some artwork on clothing and leather jackets.
Please take time to do a thorough search through this site because I do a wide range of style and subject matter. No, not all of my work is gothic or dark in nature.
I have recently (May 2005) written my first book entitled
Embracing the Darkness; Understanding Dark Subcultures. The title pretty much explains it but if you would like more information feel free to click on the link and go to the book site.
