Systems Analyst
- Supported and maintained Documentum EDMS 98 / 4i for Whirlpool Corporation.
Worked closely with Project Leader in identifying and implementing infrastructure
to upgrade Documentum EDMS 98 to 4i in order to improve cross-functional business
processes that create and manage critical digital product information assets.
- Acted as primary liaison between Brand Management / Marketing systems and
EDI group in various projects involving EDI applications with trade partners
for Best Buy , Circuit City, Lowes, Sears and industry trade association,
Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM).
- Provided support to product recall projects and class action lawsuits by
providing and creating ad-hoc reports on demand. Worked closely with management
in gathering reporting requirements which was instrumental in saving the Corporation
$2 million over early estimates of the losses involved in the class action
lawsuit.
- Supported Dealer Storefront database system and provided enhancements to
infrastructure using AIX, BI/Query. COBOL II, FTP, Powerbuilder, SQL, and
Oracle.
- Contributed to the development and support of the Marketing applications
systems portfolio for over six years. Major development projects included
conversion for Y2K, redesign of SAP interfaces, and Kitchen Aid forecasting
system. Support efforts included root cause analysis and resolution, maintenance
of business, SLA commitments, ad hoc
reporting, and other major functionality enhancements.

- Consulted for a CASE development project team for The Timken Company, involving
a Customer Order and Shipping system using Information Engineering Workbench
(IEW), DB2/SQL, CICS and COBOL 2 / Workbench. Developed internal and external
testing scripts, prototyping screen designs and conducted end-user interviews.
- Consulted with B.F. Goodrich Chemical Company in converting a Hazardous
Material Reporting System to an on-line system using ADS/A, IDD, OLM, CULPRIT,
and IDMS-ADS/O based on management interviews and state / federal regulatory
requirements. System allowed users to perform on-line queries and batch reports
against the Hazardous Materials database system.
Ford Motor Credit Company, Dearborn, Michigan
January 1986 – August 1989
Programmer / Analyst
- Participated in the development of the Dealer Electronic Funds Transfer
System to collect financial transactions for all regional branch offices for
Ford Motor Credit Company to facilitate financial transactions in a more cost
effective process. Development included making modifications to the Company’s
Dealer Information System and developing interfaces using IDMS-ADS/O, COBOL,
and FOCUS to meet EDI system requirements.
- Developed and implemented an interactive on-line data modeling system based
on the Ford Motor Company corporate methodology, Extended Relational Analysis
(ERA). Developed user manuals and provided end-user training sessions to
all system users.
- Co-developed data administration naming standards and procedures. Developed
and documented logical data models for present and future data base applications.
- Coordinated year-end reporting requirements for NAAFO Receivables Leasing
Section to fulfill Company requirements in which responsibilities included
identifying, completing and ensuring accuracy of year-end reports using FOCUS,
MARKIV, and CROSSTABS.
