Xp Tips:
If you get a invalid key. That does not necessarily mean you have a pirated version. You key could of just got messed up. The Key Fix should work on all version of xp pro or home.
How to install xp sp2.
Note if have xp build 2162-You may not be able to install the final release of xp. That build was leaked out by one of the beta tester in violation of the non disclosure agreement.
Special Note-Norton 2004 has other bugs not related to xp.
Some p2p file sharing programs may no longer work. There is an unofficial patch for this.
Some other programs may not work.
Here is how to.
1. Make a back up of xp sp1
2. Let windows update download the xp sp2 install program.
3. Xp sp2 will start to install. The eula will pop-up. Now wait.
4. Disconnect or unplug your internet connection.
5. The following type of programs need to be stopped not disabled in services.msc
Firewall, Virus protection program, and any other third party program that watches your disk activity.
6. Uninstaller Program need to be disabled in services.msc Then after xp sp2 is installed. You can turn it back to automatic.
7. Goback type of programs need to be turned off as well.
8. Now install xp sp2.
9. Reboot when asked.
Your firewall & virus protection programs will be turned back on automatically after you reboot.
Now if you have the xp sp2 cd or the network install.
1. Disconnect or unplug your internet connection.
