AKA: lesser cachalot, lesser sperm whale, short-headed sperm whale

Pygmy sperm whales are dark blue to light gray with a crescent shaped white area on both sides of the head, behind the eyes and falcate dorsal fins. They may be found in the tropical waters of all oceans and eat fish, squid and crustaceans. Pygmy sperm whales are seldom longer than 3.5 meters.
