Owens Valley Living
There are so many cool things to do in and around Bishop that it's hard
to decide what THE best feature is. After giving it some thought,
I've decided that my favorite thing about living in Bishop is access to the
Owen's River. The river provides so many recreational opportunities that it
is absolutely amazing.
The most obvious thing to do at the river is go fishing. The Owens River
offers fishing for wild trophy brown trout, planted rainbow trout, and some
sections even have catfish. Most of the river is open to fishing all year.
Another thing to do along the river is to go hunting. The land along the
river supports good populations of quail, dove, and rabbits. In addition, along
some sections of the river you cam find beaver, ducks, and muskrats.
During the summer, my favorite thing to do along the river is to just relax
under a big cottonwood with a few cold ones.
