President Wilson wanted neutrality at any costs. He was willing to oninue business to each opposing side, even though the USA was impartial to the Allies. Wilson joined the LEP because he wanted a quick end to this war, maybe even without a vicotry. However, he soon began to see victory would be the only end to the war unless ssomething drastic was done. Germany had already almost reached Paris, and they were a strong force, even though they had begun to decline. So Wilson gave his Fourteen Point speach to moralize the USA and the Allies, and to show the Axis powers there was another alternative because their Schllefin plan was failing.
