We don't know how she managed to get it down the stairs. It outweighed the car.

We finally managed to haul all the luggage to the car.

Lacey sings the Woman Song (a.k.a. "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor) on the way to the airport where we were going to meet up with Denise.

As unbelievable as it seems, at 26, Amy had not yet flown in a plane. She did pretty well for her first time. We told her to consider this her warm up. She leaves for two weeks in Italy in October.

Sam, Amy, Lacey, and Denise switching planes in Houston.

Nick was waiting at the airport to take us to our hotel. After arriving and getting ourselves situated in the room, we toured the Holiday Inn French Quarter. This is the view from the window in the pool area.

This is the lobby of the hotel.

After our brief tour, we decided to get some dinner. We ate at an excellent restaurant (actually every restaurant we ate at was excellent), Sammy's Steak and Seafood. We spent the rest of the night hanging out on Bourbon Street. Here we are with the balloon man that made us hats (if you think really hard, you can guess what they are). His "life-partner", Marty, took this picture. We then continued on toward the hotel with the sound of the balloon guy and Marty arguing about whose turn it was to do the laundry fading in the background.

My god-brother, Nick, sitting in the hotel room.

Amy with one of the balloon hats (come on, I'm sure you can guess what THAT is)!
