Highlights from the Latest Race on NASCAR 1999 Edition

Here are the highlights in text and pictures of the Subway 400.

Chris Pickett won the Bud Pole for the race at Rockingham.  Green flag falls, DJ leads the first lap.  CP took the lead back over on the next lap and led the next 10 laps.  Caution on lap 9, with the 9 car of Bill Elliott crashing in turn 4, then collecting his teammate Jeremy Mayfield in the 19 car, and finally collecting the 29 car of Kevin Harvick.  Chris loses the lead on lap 14, then ended up crashing with Jeff Burton’s 99 and Jimmy Spencer’s 41 in turn 1 at the halfway point.  CP’s car was completely smashed in on the front.  Burton had minor right front and rear end damage.  Spencer’s car was completely destroyed on the front end.  CP went to the pits and repaired the left front tire and the smashed front-end.  Green flag falls, for the rest of the race CP charges up from 35th to the lead at one point.  4 car battle between DJ, CP, Jerry Nadeau, and Dave Blaney for the rest of the race.  Those 4 were caught up behind the 05 lap car of Samantha Pickett, and that’s why they were all bunched up.  Dave Blaney ends up crossing the start/finish line 2 tenths of a second ahead of current point leader and defending Winston Cup champ Chris Pickett.  Jerry Nadeau finished third and DJ was fourth.
