How and why was "Floss ‘N Gloss" created?

Roy Davis, founder of "Floss ‘N Gloss", was approached by other car clubs to start a car club branch in the Central Indiana area. He decided that creating a club where he had more influence over and one with relaxed rules and restrictions was the route to take.
The idea itself was created in the summer of 1999, however the club itself was not fully functional until August 2000. "Floss ‘N Gloss" has always been run by a tier system. There is one President who is directly over two Vice Presidents. Using this system, misrepresentation of club activities and money is minimized.

Why is "Floss ‘N Gloss" better than other car clubs???

"Floss ‘N Gloss" has no scheduled monthly meetings where every member is required to attend and does not require members to give donations for club activities that may not be a majority desired activity.
The only meetings where members are asked to attend are open to those individuals planning to attend or be active in car shows. The meetings will be short and to the point of planning a car pool, parking at the show, and info for members who would enjoy participating in the car function. Furthermore, there is no penalty for no-shows.
Most other clubs have an initial fee (usually $15-$25), an annual fee (usually $10-25), required attendance to monthly meetings, and anoying constant donations collected for functions that aren't completely club focused. Every "Floss ‘N Gloss" fee is used solely for club activities. Any profit made on membership fees are placed into the club account. The club account can only be used for club activities that are approved by a majority vote from the club. Only then can the account be withdrawn by the President of the car club or one of the Vice Presidents acting in the Presidential position. Most of the activities will be parties, however money is also alloted towards gas money for traveling to car shows.

How do I join?

To become a member you have to fill out the application for approval. After the form is filled out, it is sent to the President of the club. He in turn takes the information and contacts both Vice Presidents and has a vote conducted. If there is a split decision, the President speaks individually with both Vice Presidents and then makes a decision of either approval or denial of admittance for the club. If both Vice Presidents approve, the President has the option to sign the admittance or veto the vote. The veto, causes a re-vote on the application. If the application is approved the second time, it is final. The member is admitted.

What do I get when I join?
A folder containing:
One welcome to the club letter
One certificate of membership (ready to be hung on the wall)
One membership card
One sponsor decal(from each sponsor)
And two club decals

Are there any other benefits to joining "Floss ‘N Gloss"?

"Floss ‘N Gloss" is envisioned as a close family. Most members have had some level of experience with restoring "classic cars" or installing custom systems to wake up the streets. "Floss ‘N Gloss" offers fellow members help installing systems, customizing, or restoring their vehicles.
On top of that, individual members have connections in different industries, which can benefit the club. For instance, one member is also a member of a car audio club as well as an audio club, so fellow members have access to discounts for audio systems. Future contacts are always welcomed and made. Those contacts continually help you, the member, get a cheaper price on audio equipment which in turn allows you to have an improved system and other customized products at a substancial cost break.
As well as that, "Floss 'N Gloss" members are also allowed discounts through the various sponsors we have.

What does "Floss ‘N Gloss" do as a group?

Members develop or strengthen friendships due to the club and its activities. Members enjoy cruising, hanging out, taking trips to car shows, as well as attending and competiting in car audio competitions with fellow "Floss ‘N Gloss" members. Basically, the club allows you to express yourself and learn about vehicles and audio systems along the way.

What if there is a problem with another member?

First try to talk it out. If words do not seem to help the situation then contact fellow members. Remember, the President and Vice Presidents are always available to help.

Can a member be dismissed from the club?

If a member is causing trouble or misrepresenting the club, an immediate vote can be made. Each member states their feeling on the situation. Afterwards a "secret ballet" vote is taken and the results are read in front of the group.

What if I am denied or are unable to be an active member?

"Floss ‘N Gloss" has an option for associate members. This allows a person outside of the Central Indiana area or a person who currently does not have a vehicle up to "Floss ‘n Gloss" status as opportunity to some of the benefits of the club, plus the option to attend all functions of the club until full active membership can be gained.

What are the "Floss ‘N Gloss" fees?

There is an initial fee of $15. That fee pays for the membership card, certificate of membership, and a window decal. The only other fee is an annual fee of $5. That five dollars is for updates that the club provides. Those continual updates, inform of new information about the club and its members as well as future car show information and results from those shows.
