Welcome to our home on the web

If you have found this site you are probably either a birthparent or adoptee ready to start searching for the missing pieces of your past. Or perhaps a reunited adoptee or birthparent on the roller coaster ride of reunion. Be assured you are not alone. There are thousands of birthfamilies searching for each other. The public is learning that birthparents DO want to be found and adoptees have a NATURAL URGE to search

Many adoption related websites and registeries exist all over the Internet. Some are State specific and some are not. There are also many mailing lists. Several can be found at Egroups.

We moderate one called AskBmom@egroups.com for all Triad in reunion or searching. We learn from each other every day. Everyone needs a support group. We often tell people "Searching is the easy part". Reunions take a real toll on emotions too. Feel free to join us.

There are many interesting and talented people in our group. Some have written some wonderful poetry about their experiences. Others would like to share their adoption stories in an attempt to help you understand what they went through and guide you. So grab a cup of coffee and come on in the kitchen and meet some of us.

Birthmothers Never Forget!

All States have their own laws governing searching, many also have ways of doing it without their specific help. You should register with the ISRR (Internationl Soundex Reunion Registry)it contains search requests from people in all states. Some states have their own mutual consent registeries. You can read and learn about that at the site we are developing with basic information about each State. We would also recommend a support group for Birthmothers. Adoptees should visit that page too. It has many links for all.

.

There are also several individuals one can hire to help with their searches as well as many people who volunteer to help others search. You can read and learn about that at the
Search Angels Site

The choice is yours. Anyone assosciated with Search Angels has been checked out. Be leery of searchers who solicit you. You can usually check one's reputation through a mailing list or newsgroup.

Angels Among Us

I was walking home from school on a cold winter day
Took a shortcut through the woods, and I lost my way
It was getting late, and I was scared and alone
Then a kind old man took my hand and led me home
Mama couldn't see him, but he was standing there
And I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers

Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hour
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love

When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees
There's always been someone there to come along and comfort me
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand
A phone call from a friend, just to say "I understand"
And ain't it kind of funny that at the dark end of the road
Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope

Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hour
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love

They wear so many faces, show up in the strangest places
To guide us with their mercy, in our time of need
Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hour
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love
To guide us with a light of love
