INDIANA'S LARGEST EVENT AND ARTILLERY NIGHT FIRE EVENT

26Th ANNIVERSAY OF HARTFORD CITY CIVIL WAR DAYS

 

  1. Step back in time to the period of 1861 to see how the Civil War Soldiers   dressed,  lived, and fought. Make it a day or two days

       This event is a reenactment and living history that covers the time period in which

      are country was divided as a  Nation, brother against brother, father against son,

        and son against father. 

 

        During this event you will be able to see demonstrators, on going presentations,   

        three battles ( 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday) which covers the ***********.

 

         Visit the sutlers  who sold  their goods to the  soldiers and  civilians.  Walk

        through the camps and converse  with the soldiers and civilians. 

        You can also purchase both period and  non-period food. 

       

         Visit the  blacksmiths, weavers,  spinners, rug maker, etc.

 

        Other activities to see:  Ladies Tea and Fashion show,  Cooking Contest, 

        Tug-of-War, military ball Saturday evening, spectacular and colorful artillery 

        night  fire .

         Friday Evening:  6 p.m. at the 4H Building (Meal and Presentation)

        *** Sesquicentennial One Man Play About Lincoln's Death. "The Last

        Full Measure" by Fritz Klein (professional speaker//Actor/ Lincoln

         Impersonator) .  He lives in Springfield, Illinois and has performed in 

        over 43 states and  internationally.

 

        Tickets for the meal and presentation can be purchased by sending a e-mail

        September 27, 2015 ***   The cost of the  tickets is $12.50 for one person

        or $20.00 for 2 persons.

        (Building located east of National Guard Armory).

        Saturday evening.  Presentation by Pres. Lincoln, Pres. Jefferson Davis,

        Gen. Picket, Gen.  Grant, Gen. Lee, Gen. Custer,  Gen. Stuart, and Gen.

        Pemberton,  Company  Singers,  Sophia the Slave and Harriett Tubman, and 

         many more.

 

        Visit Bouldin's saloon and purchase ice cold root beer, pickles, and beef jerky. 

        Also take a look at our jail and other cabins.
