"Bar
Scene" This is a
digital painting done with a graphic tablet and computer. There
is some debate as to whether digital art should be considered as a fine
art. I can say that the esthetic decisions made along the way are
basically the same. Nothing should be off-limits to an
artist. The computer is just a tool.

"Chess"
I like
chess.

"Devil and
Friend"
This is an acrylic painting on watercolor paper. I have a
painting technique that uses design rollers. I used one of the
design rollers to make the pebbly texture that runs through
everything. The figures suggested themselves to me in the pebbly
texture the same way faces do in clouds.

"Drum
Circle" I love jamming with my friends.

"El
Fogón" When I first moved to this barrio, some
of my neighbors were still cooking with firewood. So as to get
the fire up to a comfortable height, they made a table and covered it
with dirt to fire proof it. The table with the dirt is called a
fogón.

"Isla
Mona" Mona Island is one of my favorite places to
camp. The island is made of limestone and there are extensive
caves all over the place. I'm a cave man. You can also find
an endangered species of iguna that grows to about 5 ft. long. An
iguna is sunning himself on one ot the rocks.

"La
Campesina" A friend and her new baby modeled for me.
She wore her Mexican country girl costume, which was very pretty and
fun to paint. This is market day for them, selling agricultural
produce.

"Mommy"
This is basically adigital painting, but it incorporates photo collage
elements, the animals in the background.

|
"Portrait of a
Woman" This acrylic painting used no paint
brushes. I made my own sponge brushes by gluing little sponge
balls on the ends of stick handles and shaping them with
scissors. As you can see the blending is smoother than in my
other paintings. The little sponge brushes work not only for
applying paint, but also for rubbing it around, as a painter does with
his finger or a rag.

This acrylic on watercolor paper
painting was done using only design rollers of different sizes and
paper stencils. No brushes were used. The design rollers
are like rolling block prints. It is basically impossible to make
two identical copies, though.
