REBA MY FIRST MINIATURE PINSCHER
I went to a friends house one day to see her kennels, They had just put up a barn and kennel runs they were very nice. She was having trouble with the pins, they would either get out and lost, or get killed by her Rottweilers, So she was pretty discouraged about raising them. She had one left so I asked her if I could see it and she said yes, It was very skinny, you could see its ribs and it was gulping snow like it was dying of thirst, I had to do something this little dog needed me, so I asked her how much , she gave me the price which was outrageous for the condition the dog was in , I did'nt have the money so I told her we would talk price later, I wanted to take that dog home and start helping it as soon as possible, We began giving the dog science diet KD for kidney failure because of lack of proper nutrition and water, She had to be wormed and had to have her teeth fixed they were rotting out of her mouth, in 3 months we had her looking great and she was paid for in full, she was mine. her name was
REBA. She loved me as much as I loved her no one could touch me, she was my little guardian angel. And I think she thought I was hers :). So that is when my love for pins began I rescued her and then of course I wanted another one for her to play with. So my search began I went to so many houses looking for the right one only to come up empty handed. Finally I placed an add in the paper wanting a champion bred Min Pin and I got a response thats when Natasha came into our lives, then Peanut, then Samson, and so on and so on.......Well that is how this all began now I have 10 pins and love each one. We even have some of our own off spring that we kept. Dee Dee is one of them. and Samantha is another one. this is a great breed and you can't help but love these little dogs they can really put on a show. I have heard of so many different things about this breed that is contrary to the breed such as someone wrote these are not lap dogs to this day I don't know what they could have meant by that these dogs are very much lap dogs and if socialized properly are great with all ages, I have had very small children around my pins and they have done well. The thing is we have a job to do and that is to educate are children on the dos and don'ts and to teach them right from wrong if children are properly taken care of and taught these things to respect the puppy and to be careful they can make a great companion for a child but I am very selective on homes with children and ask a lot of questions, I also will have a talk with the children on proper care and dos and don'ts. The parents have actually called me and thanked me for letting the children know what I expect and that it is not just mom or dad saying this. |
