Welcome to my website. I am a 32 year old American male. Though I enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17, none of my military experiences compare to the events, suffering and sacrifices of those brave men and women who served during the pivotal Second World War.
This site is a humble tribute to all of the American, Allied and German troops who endured hardship, suffering, injury and death to preserve the ideals of their respective objectives.
This site is also an attempt to locate information about my Great Uncle, Staff Sergeant Sherwood H. Hallman who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944 and was later Killed In Action by a German sniper in the town of Brest, France. Staff Sergeant Hallman was awarded the Congressional Medal Of Honor posthumously.
Furthermore, I would be honored to compile a book containing stories, events, experiences, recollections and memories from those of you who fought there as a member of any participating military. I fear that generations to come may ultimately forget the prices paid to shape the world as it is today. Please help me by sending me anything you wish to share in your own words. Feel free to include photographs and any other pertinent items and I assure you all such things will be returned. Thank you for helping me and thank you even more for what you endured.
