Well, what can be said about the most influential political punk band ever ? Tons !! They formed in 1977, with Steve Ignorant and Eve Libertine doing vocals. There first release "The Feeding of the 5000" actually just missed going gold by a few hundred sales (by now though "Feeding.." has probaly gone platinum), it was something brand new. The absolutely most poigniant and meaningful lyrics that could possibly be written were on all there CD's. The Band broke up in 1984, but not before making a dent on the lives of many people. I own Feeding of the 5000, Christ the Album, Yes Sir, I will, Stations of the Crass, Best Before 1984, and Penis Envy. There is not a bad Crass song, but here are a few of my favorites:
-Do They Owe Us a Living ? Punk is Dead Banned From the Roxy Securicor Sucks Big A Little A Major General Despair Darling Nagasaki Nightmare Big Hands Bloody Revolutions Smash the Mac Shaved Women Sheep Farming in the Falklands Gotcha
If there was no Government...
Those are just to name a few.
Musically-- 9.5 Lyrically-- 10+
Overall-- 10
These guys is the real deal kids, Crass is the Archetype of Peace Punk, hell they even Started their own record label with more Great Bands !! Long Live Crass !!
