Twenty-seven year old Jason Behr's career is one steady rise to fame. This talented and good-looking young man has charmed Hollywood.

Jason has also been seen in series like 'Dawson's Creek' and 'Buffy'. In this interview Jason tells about his relationship to his mother, girls, and dogs.

What did you do last summer? (several summers ago)

Jason: I spent time in Los Angeles and we did a long car traveling trip with my friends and family. We visited Mount Rushmore and The Badlands, which has The Devil's Tower. We traveled through Colorade and Las Vegas.

I spent Independence Day in Minneapolis. That's it. I had a nice long break and now I am ready to go back to work.

Were you born and raised in Minneapolis?

Jason: Actually yes. When I was a young boy I traveled a lot with my family. We settled in Minneapolis when I was ten years old.

Tell us your Hollywood story. How did you end up in Los Angeles?

Jason: I did theater in my hometown. I also did some commercials. In Minneapolis I had one agent for all of my work. Then I met a manager who was on a golf and fishing vacation in my city. My local friend arranged a meeting between us and this man told me: "When you are in Los Angeles, call me." I worked very hard and saved money. Half a year later, I moved to Los Angeles.

Your Roswell Fans would like to know more about you, and especially about your interests in sports. Do you like sports? Do you play anything?

Jason: Yes, I play basketball. I also tried to play some golf but most of the time I play basketball.

Why do you like to play basketball?

Jason: I have always played it. In Minneapolis we did not have our own team in the NBA so I rooted for the Chicago Bulls. After I moved to Los Angeles, I also supported the Lakers.

Who is your favorite player?

Jason: Micheal Jordan. I respect his attitude in games and in his private life. I have been following his career from South Carolina. He is a really magnificent player. He is one of the best. He is a good role model.

Micheal Jordan may be the best player, but he also has weaknesses. What are your weaknesses?

Jason: My ankles. Just Kidding! My biggest weaknesses probably is sweets. I try to keep away from them, but...

Year 2008 Olympic Games are held in China. In which event would you like to win a medal?

Jason: At swimming. (I think that was a joke!?)

What is your advice to people who would like to keep in good condition?

Jason: Stop drinking coffee and stop smoking - those are my weaknesses as well. Go to the gym every other day and eat healthy. We are what we eat: if you eat fat, your body stores it.

How often do you use computers? Do you surf on the internet?

Jason: I don't know a lot about the computers. I don't even have a computer. I just got a fax machine for myself. I know a lot of people are dependent on computers. They spend all of their time using computers. If I try something, I usually do it 100%. Earlier I liked to play video games but nowadays I don't even touch them. That is probably the reason I don't use computers. I probably would sit at it for a week.

Are you still single?

Jason: I probably should not answer this question.

If I would ask nice...

Jason: Only girl in my life at the moment is my dog Joplin. She is a Dalmation. She is five and half years old and she still acts like a puppy. Dalmations usually do. (Currently the dog in his life is Ronin, an Akita.)

How did you get the role of Max Evans on Roswell?

Jason: I read the scripts of Roswell when I was filming 'Dawson's Creek' in North Carolina. I had a lot of fun with the cast and film crew there. Roswell interested me at once. It was a series I wanted to be in.

What part interested you the most: the aliens or the romance?

Jason: Everything. The scripts had both seriousness and irony. The relationships between people had been described honestly. Good story and a lot of different elements. It was hard to say no to that kind of script. I think teen aliens and looking for yourself interests us all.

Who is your favorite in the Roswell cast?

Jason: Everyone is great. Everyone has their own special skills. OK. My favorite is Katherine Heigl. She did melt my heart. Kathy is a great actress.

Who of the Roswell cast is closest to you?

Jason: We are a group of different kinds of people. We have lots of fun together and I cannot put one person about the others.

What do you think, when you in front of the camera? Do you forget about acting and enter into the moment?

Jason: The camera shows everything. You have to enter into the moment in scenes, but most times when I read the scripts, I get surprised about the scenes. The cast does have different techniques which they can use to get their feelings to the surface. But entering into the moment of scenes is the best way.

How far ahead do you know what is going to happen on Roswell?

Jason: We do know some little parts about what is going to happen in the future but most of the time when I read the script, I am surprised about some scenes. That is good because then you can enter into the moment of some scenes better. If I knew what would happen in the series in the next couple of episodes, I probably would accidently tell something of what was going to happen to the viewers with my attitude.

What is the crazies thing that your fans have done to you?

Jason: All the people have been really nice to us and nothing crazy has ever happened. Our fans respect us and they do not behave senselessly.

Do they recognize you on the street?

Jason: I have not been out that much, but sometimes some fans have recognized me and asked me to come and talk to them. I don't have bad memories about that kind of situation.

Who is your role model?

Jason: My mother. She has always supported me. She never forced me to do anything that I didn't like. She always said: "What you want to do, Jason, if that makes you happy, do it. I trust you."

Where would you like to travel?

Jason: To Europe. I would like to see Italy, Greece, England, France, Ireland, and Scotland. I am interested in their culture and I have heard that they have good food in Europe. I have been out of the United States only once when we did a school trip to Cancun, Mexico.

Maybe they could do a script for Roswell where FBI agents chase you all over Europe.

Jason: That would not be a bad idea at all.

Have you ever been in love with any movie star?

Jason: When I was young, I was in love with Audrey Hepburn. She is classical, elegant, grand...

What do you do in your free time?

Jason: I enjoy being with my family. I watch movies. I hav not had time to go to the movies so I have a lot to see. I play basketball as much as I have time to. Of course I watch games on TV too.

How old were you when you started to act?

Jason: I was five years old and I appeared in a Christmas play at the local TV station in Minneapolis. One of the actors looked just like Abraham Lincoln. I knew that he was one of our presidents but I didn't know that he was dead. I was wondering to myself how they got Lincold to act in our play!

Did you want to be an actor then?

Jason: Yes. After the filming, we all went to eat at a hamburger restaurant and I thought "this is the life". In my school years, I was in school plays and I did commercials after high school, I thought for the first time that this could be a serious career for me.

What do you think about Los Angeles?

Jason: I love Los Angeles. There is much to learn there. You can do whatever you like there. One morning you can go surfing, another day you can go to the mountains and ski. You can go hiking or fishing or you can spend your time in clubs around the clock.

What do you think about Minneapolis?

Jason: I go there as much as I have time to. I go at least a couple times a year. It is a really nice city. I would like to own a house there.

Have you ever visited the real Roswell, New Mexico?

Jason: No, but we have been planning to do a trip there. Like a school trip.

A field trip???

Jason: Yes, that would be cool. Unfortunately there is so much going on that I don't know if we will ever get the time to do it. I think there are a lot of small UFO centers out there.

Do you have any contact with people living in Roswell?

Jason: I have gotten some really nice letters from there.

Do you believe in aliens?

Jason: I don't know. The scientists say that it is impossible that we live on the only planet which has life on it, and when I look up at the sky, I do feel really insignificant. But I don't know that everyone can believe in things that he or she has never seen. It could be too weird to believe in things that you have never experienced. Probably someday we will get visitors from outer space and then people will believe. Until then, everything is only speculation.

Do you do practical jokes when filming?

Jason: Sometimes but not usually.

Have you ever been the victim of jokes?

Jason: There is always something going on when we are filming but I can't remember any silly things right now.

Will we see you in any movies soon?

Jason: I read scripts all the time but I have not found anything that would suit me yet. (But he just finished "Shipping News".)
