Jimmyness is like the rose, beautiful and dangerous all at once. Beautiful in wanting to touch it, needing to live it, loving it. Dangerous in pricking your finger on a thorn, bleeding for his love of you. He makes me want to be the only girl alive, to have him hold me and make sweet love. To be married and have 'little Jimmy's' running around to grow up to be just like him. I love to look deep into his beautiful brown eyes and dream that it's me that he is thinking of.
That is the true meaning of Jimmyness.

in a gun battle I'd take James Butler Hickok over Kid anyday... Kid would be so worried that I couldn't handle myself... he'd probably get us both killed, and Jimmy would be there, helping out... and letting me pull my own weight and be myself..

Scarywhit sends in what Jimmyness is to her!

Jimmyness is like standing at the edge of a cliff whith your arms wide while Kid"ness" is is like a gentle breeze. (I'm using this in an upcoming fic so hands off!) All the Kidness in the world cannot add up to an ounce of Jimmyness, and they know it's true, that's why they defend themselves. While we do not need to prove ourselves to them for we know Jimmyness is far fairer than they can hope to be.

The Gospel According to Wendy In the beginning Ed created Kid. And it was good. Ed said "Go forth and bring your goodness to Sweetwater and protect the innocent. Clothe yourself in buckskins and grow sideburns." And it was so. But then Ed created Jimmy. And it was even better. Ed said "Go forth, pack those pistols on your hips and be the man that Kid cannot be. Be sexy as only you can be. Make the women swoon and have naughty thoughts when you clothe yourself in longjohns, neck-kercheifs, leather gloves and black hats. Your aim may not be as accurate as my previous creation, but your gun is for a greater purpose." Jimmy looked to his creator at this point and asked "What is my purpose? I have feelings that I want to express." Ed, the mighty creator, responded to his sexy creation and spoke, "But that is the mystery of your appeal. Your dark, brooding attitude will only make the females of the universe yearn for your every move. Sexiness is my gift to you." "What is Sexiness?" quothed Jimmy. Ed smiled at his creation. "Sexiness is what you are. Sexiness is the ability to just stand there and look hotter than Tucson in July. Sexiness is the essense of your very existence. You shall go forth and express your passion that explodes when least expected. You will use it in every step you take, every word you utter and every cup you drink from." "But I feel so overwhelmed that all this sexiness goes to me," spake His Jimmyness. "Isn't there enough to go around?" "Of course not," Ed, the magnificent creator said. "Only you have the ability to carry all this Sexiness. This sexiness is so massive. Your sexiness is like the size of all the universe, where as my first creation, Kid, holds but a pebblefull of sexiness. This is a great load to carry, but only you have the ability to take this Sexiness and use it like no other." "But what will your first creation get?" spoke His Jimmyness in his too damned sexy manner. "I'll think of something," quoted Ed. "I'll make him a partner that he will fall in love with and eventually marry. But beware, my sexy creation. She may fall victim to your sexiness, because that's how powerful it is, and eventhough you may want to react on it, you must back away. Afterall, since you get all the sexiness, he has to have something to look forward to." "But can I still be brooding, macho, manly and care for my friends?" spake His Too Damned Sexy Self. "Of course," Ed replied. "That is what Sexiness is all about. You are finally starting to realized what true Sexiness is. I see I have created a far better being than my first." "Cool," His Jimmyness said. "I can be groovy with that." And it was so and it was so damned good. But lurking in the darkness of the underworld was the evil carnation named 3rd Season Writer, who said. "I shall create The Spawn, that will walk the plains and try to put an end to all of this sexiness." And this was so very evil and bad. It was bad, I tell you! And so The Spawn tried to lure His Jimmyness into an evil pit where no sexiness can survive, but he fought and fought. When lo and behold, The Wonderful Wendy comes along and sweeps His Jimmyness from the clutches of The Spawn and slapped her stupid ass for being so damned evil and threw her into a boiling pit of goo. And Ed, the Wonderful creator said, "Hey I like your style." And it was so. And all the world was at peace at last. Amen.

"I Dream of Jimmy with the Dark Brown Hair" ~ by Beth (adapted from the Stephen Foster folk song "I Dream of Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair" and inspired by Jeanette's logo) ~ I dream of Jimmy with the dark brown hair. He is so sexy, and he is so fair. I see him riding o'er the plains each day, Facing all the dangers that will come his way. Many are the reasons for which I love him true. Many are the times I wish he'd love me, too. I dream of Jimmy with the dark brown hair. Making love all night, we would never have a care. I sigh when Jimmy looks with eyes so bright, His perfect form and also teeth so white. His smiles have brightened up my darkest day. Oh, please, don't ever let his light go away. No other rider will I ever love, you see, For, to my heart, Jimmy holds the only key. I dream of Jimmy with the dark brown hair. He'd be the stallion, and I would be his mare. ;-) I close my eyes, and Jimmy's face appears, Easing all my pain and quelling my fears. I love you, Jimmy, though I know it seems Your love for me will only live in my dreams.

Jimmyness is being cool and smooth, yet vulnerable and sweet. It washes over you when you least expect it, leaving you breathless and smiling. You can't explain it in a word or a paragraph or two. Just when you think you understand, it slips away from you, mysterious and elusive. It haunts your dreams in the form of brown eyes and cocky smirks, only to vanish when you wake. Jimmyness is everywhere, surrounding you, and is in everyone, even those afraid to admit it. It's in that little place, down deep in your heart. Just close your eyes and listen as it whispers your name. Jimmyness...Catch it before it catches you!

Melanie describes Jimmy's "jimmyness"...

I don't even know where to start! I don't know that I can sum up the essence of Jimmyness... brooding, swarthy, masculine yet sensitive, hot-tempered but with a conscience... it's really hard not to imagine him in bed every time you look at him! My thing with the young riders is that everyone of them was incredibly sexy. For some reason, Ike was my favorite but it was a close-second tie between Jimmy and Buck. Perhaps it was the setting, all that raw maleness in the wilderness.
