Sunday Morning. 27 Nov., 1994. approximately 6:47 a.m.. Route 60 East about 5 miles beyond where Interstate 15 intersects. The morning was unusually clear due to the previous night's high wind storms and northern front. The sun was up, bright, visibility was between 75-100 miles. The region was fairly rural, not deep rural, but rural compared to the suburbs.

I am a skydiver. I was traveling to Perris Valley Skydive Center to jump for the day. I was traveling East on Hwy. 60. (for this discussion, consider my traveling position at the 12 o'clock position. I noticed what I thought was an airplane above and beyond the mountains at the 11 o'clock position. It was very clear. I watched it wondering what airport it was approaching.

There was only one other car on the road that I can remember. Still driving, I continued to look from the road out the windshield to the sky, following the airplane. Then, I saw a brilliant white light (like a spot light) coming from the plane.

Immediately, I thought it was an approach light on the plane or a reflection from the sun, which was rising in the 1 o'clock position, again me traveling at the 12 o'clock position. The light went off.

I watched more. The road. The plane. I slowed slightly. The plane continued. I started thinking about the spotlight/reflection-- wondering how as a spotlight it could be that bright? Or how it could be a relection from the sun, when the sun was at 1 o'clock, and the plane was at 11 o'clock?

Then, the bright white light went on again. I thought quickly. For it to be a reflection, the sun would have to be in the 3 o'clock to 7 o'clock position to be at the right angle. Then, I slowed down to watch. I scanned the sky, but could find nothing. In two seconds, the object was gone. Completely gone.

It was clearest day in Los Angeles (at outside) that I've seen in maybe a year. I'm used to looking through sky for planes because I'm a skydiver. I had a clear visible field of 270 degress. I stopped the car. And scanned the sky. My eyes went back and forth over the area where I had sighted the object. But it was gone. That's it.

No great drama. no great hoopla. I've never seen one before. And don't know if I'll ever see one. I don't know if it was a plane, a UFO, or what it was. All I know it was clear day, the object gave off a bright light (twice), and it disappeared in two seconds.

Bright star object approached to a building directly across street from me in downtown Olympia. Appeared as ball of light, as like spherical, suddenly appeared much higher in sky. shifted to new position, could not see it get from pointA to pointB. Next thing I knew, huge bright,

flashing, blinking lights in my face, as if shining in my window. Felt an extremely intense, mindexpanding, psychic enlargement, whole new feeling, never before felt. Then saw wide plane like object with no nose or tail, directly over head; I could see ribbing on the bottom. No noise. Had three skeptical witnesses. Strange things have happened ever since. Does anyone know of anything of that shape or had that psychic 6th sense feeling upon sighting so called ufo's? I was a skeptic.

In recent days, residents of Tulsa, Oklahoma and

surrounding communities have reported the appearance of a

bright unidentified object in the evening sky. These

reports have been described in local news broadcasts, but

have not yet been explained. The reports seem to coincide

with sightings of a similar object in the state of

Kentucky.

The following description was derived from a witness who

was interviewed shortly after seeing the object:

On Thursday, December 1, 1994, between 5:30pm and 6:00pm,

the witness was driving west on Highway 51 between Tulsa

and Sand Springs. Another witness, who has not yet been

interviewed, was also in the vehicle. The witness

reported that the sun was below the horizon, but that the

western sky was still illuminated. He also reported the

presence of scattered dark clouds.

The witness noticed a very bright, white light to the

west/southwest, in front of the clouds, and approximately

30 degrees above the horizon. The light remained

absolutely motionless for several minutes, shining

steadily, then seemed to begin moving slowly to the north

just before the witness left the highway. The witness

also reported the appearance of a small, red light

pulsating to the left of the larger, white light.

The witness did not report any sound.

The witness does not believe that the light was a star or

planet. The witness also claims that the light was too

large and bright to be an airplane or helicopter.

A local news reported Friday December 2nd that a woman had seen and video taped what seemed to be a "alien" craft on Monday November 28. The video they showed was at night showing a "craft" in the sky which seemed circular to me. The craft then separated into about four, what appeared to be identicle crafts.

Did anyone else see this or know anything about it?

What I thought was interesting, and maybe not to anyone else, was that at the end of the segment the newcaster stated "believe your eyes" and to call the station if you see anything at their UFO Hotline.

This post is in response to someone who said they

saw a green flash on the night of Dec 4th.

I was driving toward Berkeley at around 9-9:45

when I too saw a green flash come down from the sky.

I didn't imagine it either cause my girlfriend saw it also.

It came down at around 35 degrees to the horizonal measured downwards. I was heading west on I80. I only saw it come down--I didn't see any 'bounces' cause they would have been hidden by the foot-

hills.

I'm not sure what it was but now I know we weren't

the only ones who saw it. I doubt it was a UFO--just a bit

interesting. Does anyone know of any natural phenomena that

could explain such an event? It looked like a green ball

with a long tail. I'd say it was ball lighting but I'm not

sure what atmospheric conditions would cause such a large

amount of green light--polution perhaps? The only gas that

I can think of off the top of my head that emits radiation

in the visible green spectrum is neon (doubt there was that

much in the sky). I know of some metals that burn green

though. If anyone knows of any sulfur or carbon compounds

that burn green that could perhaps explain it. I also know

that the oil refineries in that area emit tons of Selenium

based compounds--but my info says that those emissions are

limited to water based polutants--I'm sure if they release

them into the atmosphere as well. I'd be interesting to here

what anyone out there has to say--especially if they saw

it also. Bye.

There have been a notable number recently, a few weeks ago,

the nightsky in suburban Wash DC lit up to daylight in a flash

of a good sized fireball.

Was mentioned on TV News here,

A few minutes later I saw another long white trailed fireball.

And on nights since I've seen 3 more.

Not your cute ohhhhhh-there's a meteroite..

Long smoke trails, WIDE smoke trails, very bright.

I want to mention that, 10 days ago I saw flying red light in sky. Its speed just like sliding star (I don't know exact words). But color is red, not a bright star shining. I know that no plane can fly such a that speed.

My question is that Is this a just meteor or anything else.

I was sitting on my couch in Los Angeles when I just happened to look out the window and saw a large colorful light fly across the sky. (I believe it was between 9 and 10:00 pm on Friday, 12/3/94.) I remember seeing a green glow around it -- like a large firework. I went out on my balcony to see if someone was shooting off fireworks but none followed. Later, I heard a commercial on TV saying something like "strange lights over L.A. -- more at 11!" Unfortunately, I fell asleep before the news came on.

The next day I looked in the L.A. Times thinking there would be something about it but found nothing. I later turned on the news at 5:30 (Saturday) and saw a report of how it was a meteor and it was sighted as far down as San Diego and that they believed it crashed into the Pacific ocean.

On Sunday, I *really* searched the L.A. Times for an article and _again_

found nothing. Which seems really odd to me because it was quite

spectacular. And big! This was no little mini streak across the sky that you needed a telescope to observe. I thougt it was a firework!

Whatever it was, I think it's terribly strange that the only major

newspaper in Los Angeles didn't cover it (or if they did, heaven knows

where they buried it).

Anyone else see it?

I missed it (big sigh for effect here), but I did see a very short

article about it the next morning in our journalistic masterpiece,

the San Diego Union Tribune. Just a couple of eye witness accounts,

and a suggestion that it was probably a meteor.

: The Dec 4th "UFO" could also have been ... a "green flash". This is a

: natural but uncommon sight when the sun is rising or setting. It is due

: to refraction, like with a prism, wherein sunlight is separated into its

: component colors. Under favorable circumstances the green component can

: be seen directly or by reflection from clouds or mountains. A good

: reference is Minaert: "Light and Color in the Open Air", once republished

: by Dover. It is a very old book. I do hope that reference is correct as

: to title and spelling of the author's name. My copy is lost. Also,

: quite a few years ago, either in Scientific American or maybe American

This would be true if observed over water. The green flash is only

visible over water. It has to do with the refraction of light through

the water. That is why you will not see it at sunrise. It also must be

an exeptionally clear day [ don't get many of those any more ].

This is a UFO Report.

My younger daughter, Stephanie, 18, was driving home with her

boyfriend at 4:15 a.m. (don't ask), taking a lonely very rural

road outside of San Andreas, Calaveras County, CA, on Dec. 6.

Suddenly she and Robert noticed a very large luminous orangish

globe up in the dark sky, altitude "high" but undetermined,

following them. The size of the UFO was such as to be

comparable to a soccer ball held at arm's length, i.e., much

larger than the full moon!

The object paced them to Calaveritas, pop. 25, then went up a

river canyon, and around a side canyon, and "met" them near the

house, still overhead. When they pulled in the driveway of her

mother's house, the object proceeded past the back yard and

hung over a river canyon south of the other side of the

property. It remained there about an hour. Stephanie and Robert

felt spooky while the object followed them, and couldn't sleep

for a while.

Heard this on a morning show here in Detroit. The DJs were talking to

a state trooper (I believe). He said the object was 60 ft. in diameter

with lights all around it. The woman who first saw it said it was

hovering at tree-top level for a time then moved farther away. A

trooper arrived on the seen after being called and observed the object

with binoculars. The womans neighbor arrived with a videocam and

recorded the object. The trooper on the radio(who wasn't the one on

the seen) said they were trying to contact the Air Force since three

jets were seen in the area. The total time the object was observed was

20 minutes. The trooper said the tape has been released to the media

and that it was shown last night in Cadillac, Mich. Also, the DJ

specifically asked if this was another Santa Claus sighting stunt.

The trooper said absolutely no.

Ok,

Within a day several reports from friends and family have come to me.

Two from staunch skeptics of the paranormal. Some backrounmd info: I and

all parties concerned live in Pittsburgh, PA and one night my sister was

on her way inside her house when this very bright light shown on her.

There was no source she could pinpoint, just an extremely bright light

which was tight (only shown on her and a small area surrounding her), the

light apperared to come from a low angle but as she said for the short

time it was on she couldn't pinpoint it. Her fiancee' is a real skeptic

and he had the same thing happen to him on the way into the house.

Blindingly bright light which stayed on for about a second and had a tight

focus. Light too bright to pinpoint in such a short period of time. THEN

tonight (or this morning) the very same thing happened to a friend of mine

in my driveway (the other incidents happened at my the couple's house

which is mile from here). Anyway he too is a big skeptic of the paranormal

yet he yelled for me and asked "Did you see that? Did you see that!" To

which I responded, "See what?" and he related the same details as above

but he said the light had a somewhat greenish color. I then told him

about my sister and soon to be brother-in-law's sighting.

Some nights before we were in my driveway and spot a craft (won't

call it a plane yet) which had 3 lights on it in a triangular formation

and a red "beacon" light underneath. Now what drew our attention to it was

it's wobbly motion at first. It seemed like it was floating like a falling

leaf. (since we live on a flight path to the Pittsburgh Internation

Airport which is about 3 miles away, we see planes and helo's all the

time). We ran out into the street to get a better view and at the same

time it came out from the trees it was behind at a fairly rapid (but still

within normal aircraft flight characteristics) speed. The craft seemed to

be at about 2,000 feet but it is hard to estimate distances at night. All

the while no sound was heard until it was directly above us. It slowed and

paused in mid-air for a second and emitted a real low but audible rumble

which seemed to come on instantaneous, as if someone said "OK, turn on the

sound". Most jets, civilian and military are pretty loud at this height

when they are directly above you. Anyway all of us agreed it was strange

but pretty much agreed that it was somekind of military aircraft. We could

see a faint outline of an elongated, acute triangle with rounded edges but

it was very faint the only reason I think we saw it was because the

underside reflected no light and the backround was brighter due to the

clouds. Had this been a clear night I doubt we would have detected an

outline. Anyway, has anyone else had any sightings of unusual nature in

this area recently? If so let me know.

Roughly one week ago, a number of people in the Traverse City area of Michigan (NW Michigan - lower peninsula) witnessed a supposed UFO in the evening hours. What makes this sighting unique is that it is collaborated by Michigan State Police officers who also witnessed the craft. Additionally, a fairly detailed video tape was shot of the UFO for several minutes. Part of the tape was shown on the evening news in Detroit (I did not see the tape).

The UFO was described as saucer shaped, with a circle of lights along the bottom of the craft. It had four very bright lights shining up on it's hull. State Police described it as looking exactly like the ships seen in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". The UFO hovered one foot above tree level for 10-15 minutes before instantly shooting upwards several hundred feet, and then finally zipping away at enormous speed, out of sight. A video tape was recorded by a Traverse City resident that lasted approx. 10 minutes. This tape is believed to be some of the most convincing evidence for the existence of UFOs.

Additionally, on Christmas morning, a Lansing, Michigan resident shot a separate video of another alleged UFO in the morning sky. This video was also featured on the local Detroit newscast. A Michigan UFO Expert named Wayne Erickson indicated that there has been a flurry of UFO reports in Michigan in the recent weeks, most of them being located in western Michigan. Both Traverse City and Lansing are located towards the western side of the state.
