Welcome to my page for nursing students. My name is Cynthia. I completed
nursing school in 1998 and am working at a local hospital on a
Med-Surg/Respiratory/Telemetry unit.
Before I go on, I'd like to ask for suggestions as to what type of Review Questions
there is an interest in seeing next. I have limited time to work on this page and
would like to be sure to write useful questions when I do get to devote some time
to it! Please email me at cwidick@evansville.net
Please check out the Review Questions on the lower half of the page.
Please let me know what you think - what do you want more of or how would this
be more helpful? It takes time to write the questions, so I'll be activating
the links as I upload the new sections.
For anyone who hasn't been in, or had a family member in, nursing school
and who is uncertain what the fuss is about....A nursing student "takes
leave" of family, friends, and former routine for a couple of years.
(Maybe a support group for the families should be formed.) For those of
you with kids, did you ever think there would be a time when you'd get
less sleep than you did when your children were born? Can you
vaguely remember being satisfied when you finished that novel before it
was due to go back to the library? That's a couple of nights' worth of
light reading now. Are you learning all about good nutrition, adequate
sleep, and healthful lifestyles --- and finding that you're not following
any of the recommendations? Has Level of Consciousness taken on a whole
new meaning for you? That's nursing school!! But there are also the
really good times: friends, laughter, and experiencing special moments
when you realize exactly why you wanted to do this.
Please sign the guestbook below before you leave, or drop me an email. Thanks.
Please note: The review questions, as well as the dosage
calculation problems were written by me, based on theory content and clinical
experiences, and supported by nursing textbooks for accuracy (bibliography
below). Should these answers vary from your learning, please refer to your
school's curriculum, textbooks, and course content as accurate. None of
this material is intended as medical advice or instruction, but merely for
review of nursing theory and clinical concepts as is generally accepted.
