Do You
Know My Missing Link?
Try this sometime: Go downtown
or sit outside and just watch other people.
Simply watch
them.
Watch them
walk. Watch them laugh. Watch them interact with others.
Hours can go by and you won't see two people with the same
mannerisms.
I bet though if you go to a family reunion you will see your
cousins, aunts, or other family members who act similar to each
other.
Why is this? Is it nature or nurture? Age old question (or at
least question asked to me by my psychology teacher in high
school).
There are times in every person's life that he or she wonders why
he or she did something. Whether those actions dealt within your
family, your job, or your values.
The question of who you are appears many times throughout ones
life.
I know we have all asked ourselves, "Am I becoming my
Mother!?" or "Am I becoming my Father!?"
Sometimes we laugh about it. Sometimes we cry.
Memories come back to us from our childhood and we think,
"Yes, I am becoming my MOTHER!"
For me, the question lingers out there...Am I becoming my mother?
Do I have traits like her? And how about my father? Do I act like
he did in stressful or exciting times?
I can not answer these questions.
My mother died when I was 16 months old and my father passed away
when I was 12 years old.
Fourteen months prior to my mothers death in August of 1973, two
of my sisters passed away. Michelle was only seven years old and
Jenny was three.
Please go to the following pages to read about my mother, father,
and two sisters.
You will see there is little I know about them, but am hoping to
learn more.
That is part of what these pages are for. Hoping someone will
recognize their names. It is also to honor the mother, father,
and two sisters I love, but never got to know.
It's sad, but to this date my family has declined or refused to
share what they know Crystal, Frank, Michelle, and Jenny. Because
of this, I can not answer the question of "Who Am I."
But maybe,
just maybe, while you are looking around the following pages, you
will look inside and around yourself and ask, "Who Am
I?"
I hope everyone one of you can answer this question with a smile
on your face and a tear in your eye when you answer, "I am
MY MOTHER!" or "I am MY FATHER!"
Please email me with comments or suggestions. Thank You.
