I was born and raised in Wauseon, Ohio. After high school, I attended International Business College and graduated with an associate degree in accounting. I have always loved sports and since my high school did not have girl's sports, I decided to become an official and now officiate volleyball, basketball, and fast pitch at both Middle School and High School level. I learned the game of volleyball by watching other coaches and players as I referred them and am now entering my 19th year of coaching volleyball. I am currently an assistant coach at Concordia Lutheran High School.

I met my husband on the softball field when we were officiating together. We have been married for 30 years and have three children and one granddaughter. My oldest son, Shaun, played volleyball during his middle school years. My daughter, Shayna, played club ball for 9 years, 4 years at Concordia Lutheran High School, 4 years at University of St. Francis, and is currently a club coach in Florida. My youngest son, Chad, played club volleyball for 4 years and has coached middle school. My granddaughter, Mataya, is looking forward to becoming a future volleyball player.
