Welcome to my life

Sectional Champs '97

This was my team. I swam for Munster High School and Munster swim club from 1994-1998. Munster Swimming has a special meaning to all those who have been on one of their teams. Being a Munster swimmer is something that will stick with someone for their entire life. Swimming for Munster changed my life greatly and I will always look back to those days of long grueling practices or the tough competition we faced. Im in the picture aboove, but you cant exactly see my face. We won sectionals that year, just like almost every year. Munster swimming has won sectionals in all but 2 of the last 30 years. This is me with my parents my senior year. This was a sad night this picture was taken. It was the last night I would swim a dual meet in my swimming career. The next meets after this were sectionals and state, and that meant incredible competiton. I swam butterfly and sprints for most of my swimming career. I swam fly in sectionals my sophmore and junior year, and then the medley relay both my junior and senior year. During my senior year, I obtained an injury that put me out for about a month during the heart of training season. The tendons in my shoulder were over-stretched and my arm was coming close to popping out of socket. The doctor told me that my chances of ever swimming 100% again were just about none. Damn was he wrong.

This is a pic of the guys I always used to hang with. From left to right, its Ryan, Dan, Greg, Me, and Jeff. Ryan and Dan go to Purdue Cal, Gregs at Purdue, and Jeff's off at USC. We're all hanging around the "kan" as we'd call it. We used to hang out between classes next to this one garbage can that used to talk to us. It was pretty sweet. No one else seemed to understand our little humor with it, but we enjoyed it while it lasted. It was all good as long as you didnt get honked. Oh yeah, this pic was taken next to our teams pool for team pic day.

This is me and the guys that rode in my van on the way to state my senior year. In the pic its Jim, Matt, Me, Nick, and Dave. I swam fly in our medley relay that year down at state. My relay was made up of four guys that were never expected to go anywhere with swimming when they started. We proved them all wrong. My relay was John Parr, Jason Grow, me, and Jeremy Kudlo. We kicked some ass. This pic down below is me in the water at state. Im the second one up from the bottom in the water.
